Im gonna make a detailed post about how much i owe everyone and create a spreedsheat and be transparent about it and post it in here. Im going to start paying people back as soon as tomorrow and hopefully people can see that im going to fix this.

what gave me confidence was him being in USA the whole time partying with people like mickmack, sean sullivan and other former well known mtt regs, anyone of them can chime in?

Mick and Sean haven't been involved extensively at all for numerous years, though they dabble a bit on Bovada.

I can't speak for both of them, but I found out Max owed a good friend of mine a decent amount for a long time. Max had made strides to pay him back, albeit giving the same ring around and guilt trip most others seem to be having, and long after getting the initial loan. While I was semi uncomfortable hanging around with Max with this knowledge, I thought Max had paid him back in full, or was making an active effort to continue doing so. It appears this was a lie. I did not know the extent of his debt, though the friend advised me of rumblings from others. With my unease of the situation and me stepping away from poker I did not try and involve myself further, which in hindsight was an error on my part.
As Ben already said, we all got together this summer for one weekend (2 days) in Chicago to hang out with Ben, who was in town from Australia. The only person I knew he owed money to was to a mutual friend we were hanging out with at that time. I honestly didn’t think much of it and never suspected him to not pay that friend back.

It's already been mentioned but I haven’t been an active member of the poker community for quite some time. I’ve been out of the loop and don’t know any more information than this.

"gonna" huh, that sounds convincing.

Blows my mind that people 'lend' (i.e. donate) money to degenerate leeches but I guess human nature is endlessly gullible.

Quiet. You're going to provoke the time-tested "well if u guyz r just gonna be d*cks about it, then i'm certainly not going to keep posting just so i can have my good name besmirched" strategy.

In all seriousness, good to hear Max. Will be even more encouraging to see when you make said post and people start reporting getting paid back. Gl.

I was hoping I could avoid this thread, but now I feel obligated to post something for a few reasons.

First of all, my name was brought into this situation here(Sean Sullivan):

Ben(bazooka87) pretty much told the story a few posts earlier. Max, Ben, Mick, and I (and a few others) all have a Skype group going back from when we all played, and it's been a thing ever since. The four of us decided to meet up when Ben was in Chicago. I really had no clue what was going on at the time, other than Max asking me to tell Pat Mahoney he was going to send him some money at some point, because Max didn't have access to Skype while he was traveling.

Secondly, Max also owes me about 2.2k. I won't go into detail really, other than that it was accumulated over the summer.

I wish I had more insight into the situation, but I know about as much as everyone else in this thread does, perhaps less. I haven't really been a part of the community in a few years, other than semi-regularly grinding some US sites as of this year.

I just hope this all gets worked out.

I think this site doesn't have hands pre-2012. If someone has access to this site, I believe you can also check when the money was lost (there is Time Line on the picture).

I also remember HotKarlMC sitting vs me HU late last year or early this year @ Stars, IIRC he was huge fish and dropped few buyins at $5/$10, will check in a couple of days when I get home.

have played hu with him at 25/50 a couple times this year
09-25-2014 , 08:42 AM
Loaned a guy 6.5k cos "with him being semi well known within the community and ive never heard anything bad about him"

When will the people learn?

Not sure how these comments benefit the thread tbh, If you read the thread you would see this point has already been made numerous times. There are a ton of guys who are involved in this that are some of the smartest, longest standing most reputable members of our community and max has been on the scene for a long time and I know alot of mutual friends tht would have vouched for him at the time. This thread should stay focused on him and how he plans to make things right rather than derailing the thread going back to this point repeatedly imo

Part of me wishes I knew what it's like to be a remorseless liar. Max claims cash game losses were from 5 years ago and then ppl come out the woodwork saying they've played him at high stakes heads up recently. This guy isn't going to pay out a dime.
09-25-2014 , 10:42 AM
fwiw the -256k graph is from fev 2013 to now so 1 year and a half..no 5 years++ like hes claiming, just an other lie from him.
09-25-2014 , 10:58 AM
Not a lie. Honestly believed they were from back then (at least part of it). Apologizing for that. Spreadsheet is coming later today
09-25-2014 , 11:58 AM
must be nice to be that good at stealing other peoples money that you can just forget about losing a 1/4mil in the last year or so.
09-25-2014 , 12:24 PM
Max will since you say you have the money aren't going to send out for awhile would you post a screenshot of a recent bank statement? Obviously block out the personal details but since its becoming more and more difficult to believe anything you say this would help a lot and give people more faith.
09-25-2014 , 01:00 PM
How can you lose at 72bb/100 hands? That's the real crime here for an EPT runner-up
09-25-2014 , 01:05 PM
Ever heard of tilt ?

Did You have a very big bankroll prior to your ept success? How much did you win playing mtt's online before the ept stuff?? This would mean at the very minimum you had won $350k in online mtt's whilst having all of your own action and not cashing any out or using any of this money for anything other than spewing off in the highstakes. This could be entirely possible because I didn't play much back in these days so maybe you won some wcoop stuff I never knew about but I never heard of your online results being that great but then again I never really asked.

I mean the kid said a few days. Maybe he doesn't deserve so much but give him at least the few days to begin doing what he said. Sometimes people want to truly change and not even letting his word of a few days appear to be believed does not help this change. If after a few days he hasnt produced anything, then flame on, but at least give him that.

No offense posters, but all of these posts are not helpful towards getting the debts paid off. In the interest of getting debts paid, we should not be discussing his tax details on a public forum. Those details should be reserved for private chats among Max and his debtees (if ever discussed).

I am not friends with Max nor does he owe me money. I simply say all of this in hopes that from here on out on this thread, the interests of the debts being paid be the #1 priority. Any posts which do not constructively contribute to that cause be held back.

If I were one of his debtees, I would try to round up a skype group or some sort of online private forum to discuss repayment. That said I am not, I wish the best of luck to all involved.

Wont name names but a friend that he has owed a small amount for a few months (~2k) has been messaging him every few days for the last few weeks for repayment and continually is givens excuses like he is out and will send later, he forgot and fell asleep, will send the next day, out for dinner will send when home etc etc promising it being taken care of within 24 hours, same excuses for weeks.

He is posting that he will gather a spreadsheet and start making payments in the next few days, Id guess this has 0% chance of actually happening
09-25-2014 , 05:13 PM
ok, heres a list of people I owe money too. I am not sure if they wanna be named in the thread, so I will not do that. if anyone wants the names privatly (no trolls, just people who I owe money to) that is fine. People know how to contact me. I can send a list with names to Zima if he wishes or someone else who is credible.

Anonymous- 22k (someone mentioned that earlier ITT, but not sure if this person wants his name outed)

As I said I didnt recheck with anyone, or if they want their names published or not. I asked a few people if they were fine w putting their name out there and they said yes, the others I have not gotten a hold off, but im sure if they feel the need they can step foward. This is very messy but I just wanted to get something out there and not have to wait 3 days for everyone to tell me if they want the name put out there or not.

Condolences on the loss of your mother.

Hope you get this mess sorted out soon Max.

The list is intransparent for the debtees. Instead of annonymous you should add the first 3 to 4 letters of their names so every debtee can recognize himself on the list.
