my dealings with Max Heinzelmann my dealings with Max Heinzelmann

Thought about this for a while but decided I should say something before he gets any more of you even though I've been told too be quiet thats never stopped me before.
My dealings with max heinzelmann
He messaged me after I hit a score a couple of months ago asking for a loan telling me he was having some issues with stars depositing due to living in the states for a few years n moving back, I thought nothing of it with him being semi well known within the community and ive never heard anything bad about him. I loaned him $6500 as he said he would give it me back when we were supposed to meet in nottingham for a tournament the next weekend. He asks me if im selling action for this tournament also, i said yes and mark up and he says ok reserve me 10%, a few days later i ask him for the $$ after I had bust out and he tells me im sorry i thought we were still negotiating and it wasnt officially booked, no doubt in my mind had i hit a score i was 100% paying him so he totally freerolled me imho. I go to the tournament and I get a message off him telling me hes too ill to play and will settle up with me online, im having a few beers with some friends and i find out hes told the same story to not one but 3 others there also.
I tell him im getting concerned about this $$ and he tells me he will bank xfer me the money but because its international it will take 14 days. on the 16th day of waiting i get a message off him that says" I've had a tragic family crisis, my mum has just passed away and I need some time alone and ask you respect my privacy. If for some reason the money does not arrive please give me time" why would the money not arrive if u have sent it?? it's rediculous. After threatening to out him several times I eventually got my money back. I know of many many more that he still owes. I told him if he paid me back and didn't try to take any money off any of my friends in the future I would keep quiet about the whole thing. He has since messaged almost all of my friends, many of which it would have worked had I not posted a status about it on my facebook after hearing another 3 cases of money owed and more friends hed intended to scam. I am basically just getting the word out because I know there are many more in the poker community that don't know me and if I was swimming near a shark id appreciate it if someone gave me a warning. I'm sure he will come back with a ton of excuses and accuse me of being a bad guy and all that but whatever i'm not bothered about any of that, I have a ton of other well respected friends who will vouch for me as a person and my credability etc anyways people can draw whatever conclusions they like from this but I have been messaged by several people already thanking me for posting about him on facebook saying they would have loaned him the $$ had they not seen my original post. anyways gl at the tables and don't trust this dude :/

Wasn't this the guy that had A6o against Shaun Deeb's aces in the WSOP ME and hit trip 6s? I think this hand is enough of a sample to realize he's a degen and I would never trust him with a penny. You could have easily avoided this. Just because he is "semi well-known" it doesn't mean that he's trustworthy. There are several scumbags that have their faces plastered on TV poker.

Also, you sold 10% action to him and didn't even ask for the money up front? And you don't even know the guy? I'm sorry but trusting people like this is just asking to get scammed.

im not trying to justify what I did. I met the guy a couple of times and he seemed like an alright dude and hadn't heard anything bad about him and also ofcourse had some big scores in the past. I'm not trying to justify loaning him the $$, it was clearly a poor decision on my part. The truth is that people often need to loan each other money in these games and 99% of the time its completely fine. I had an excess of cash at the time and im not the first/ nor last to try and do a favour for someone in the community. Obv I will learn from my mistakes but the reason I posted this is to warn others and prevent this happening in the future, it wasn't to learn a lesson in money loaning hahah I already learnt that lesson the hard way lol

Yeah, at this point he's a well known scammer and scumbag. Do not lend him money you'll get the same bull **** story about his mother dying.

Maximilian Heinzelmann IS A SCAMMER, do not trust.

Have heard the number that he currently owes is 100k+ but every now and then pays off 6500 like this to keep people thinking theyre getting paid back.

edit: was just informed that his mom actually has died. doesn't change the fact he's using it to scam though.

this is clearly alot of money but its not unusual for mid high stakes regs to loan each other this amount, without coming off like a huge d$%^%bag we aint playing no kiddy games lol this money is basically equivalent to 2 sessions, its alot of money in the real world but the scoop festival was on and we are spending a ton in buy ins etc there are many more respected guys who have loaned him far far more than this who are far smarter than me so I don't feel too stupid about my decision if they all fell for it too so at the very least I know i'm in good company. Plus the mtt community is relatively small higher up and most of us know each other or atleast have a ton of mutual friends so you don't expect this.

yer i mean i said some stuff I wish I hadn't said involving his mum. I was obv angry and thought it was bs. I don't really care because he treated me like sh,it when I tried to offer him help and he took advantage of me and for that I just dont really give a fu.ck if i wasn't sympathetic to him.

Max messaged me on facebook out of the blue after I heard from some other regs to not trust him and asked me if I can help him pay back some people as he is in the US or whatever. I said sure, but never heard back from him.

Tried to grab the conversation but looks like he deleted me of fb, or maybe I did can't remember.

sure lending money might be the "standard" but you're all still extremely stupid for doing it. I can somewhat understand lending to direct very good friends, but lending money to max here is just ridiculous and I'd never do it in a million years.

Sat two seats away from Max on Day 1 of the Main Event the same year as the A6o hand. He didn't say anything all day except the size of some of his bets. When the day was over and we were waiting to bag up I said to him "Hey man where are you from?" as I'd made a joke about him being Scandinavian earlier in the day but wasn't sure. He didn't answer, so I took off my sunglasses and looked at him in case he didn't know I was addressing him and asked again. Still no response as he just stared off into the distance. I took that to mean he was from another planet.

I never loan money to people whose names I can't pronounce.

09-19-2014 , 01:05 PM
hotkarlmc is his stars sn, some pretty big clues that he knocked it in is hes blocked his stats on every tracking site. I assume hes just blundered it here there and everywhere but tbf im just speculating

I'm currently having problems with Max too. About 3 months ago I needed to get rid of some Pokerstars money, and a friend sent Max to me; I also knew his Pokerstars screen name (hotkarlmc) so I thought everything would be fine. Anyways, I sent him 3k, and I haven't been able to get it. I message him on Facebook frequently and he always says something like "my dad had another stroke", "my mom just died", "I will send to you no later than 4pm", and my favorite "you didn't get it? huh I sent."

i remember him blowing all of his first big tourney score(~6figs) to 5k hu sngs the next day way back in 08/09

He also asked me for a loan a few months back which i declined without him sending first. He has since facebook culled me, avoided a close call it seems

Always sad when another 'name' player is outed as a scammer. Thank you to OP for doing the right thing, potentially saved plenty of future victims.

I had a similar experience after I loaned him some stars money. My brother referred him so I thought nothing of it.

Three hours before I was leaving Vegas he paid me. This was after about of week of runaround and I fully expected another bull**** excuse. He is probably just borrowing to pay others.
