Re: My $160,000 win, ipoker still owe it and why I'll never play there again...tl;dr

This case is highlighting one of the big problems for online poker as a whole.

This is a business where billions of $$$$ change hands, where we as players as a group carry combined balances of $millions in our accounts.

We as players will quite happily gamble a decent percentage of our net worth, on a hand of cyber poker. And win or lose be back to do the same tomorrow.

What we ask in return is a fair and equal platform on which to play, and fair treatment by those we entrust our money to.

What this case has highlighted is that we as players are mugs, we trust these idiots with our money, we pay their rake, are grateful for whatever bonus they may pass on to us, even though the are giving us nothing.

But worst of all, is that if any event such as this case comes up, where I suspect that most reasonable people would feel that the OP won his jackpot fairly. Some clown with security somewhere in his job description is able to prevent payment being made on purely whimsical grounds.

We can shout and scream as much as we want, but once security guy has made his mind up he aint gonna change it.

So what can we do, Legal Action? Where and at what cost?

We have no right to arbitration, the operators can make whatever decisions they like and we will just have to take it up the backside.

Until we have a right to arbitration for cases such as this the argument against online poker will remain as strong as ever.

[QUOTE=Big-Mac;

+1 fella

all i asked for in all the contact i had with these sites is that they at least try to get OP the right to appeal , not out the question imo .

imo all the sites i contacted will be much more helpful if you contact these yourself bigbrennan .

does not mean the rest of 2+2 should not contact them to inform those sites of thier displeasure @ OP treatmeant from ipoker.

Is the winner a member of the PPA? Would they get involved? I have already suggested 2+2 set up an arbitration panel, then only allow advertisers that agree to use the panel in case of disputes like this, though of course this may affect 2+2's advertising revenue so may not be in their best interests.

If Badbeat have access to ALL the information and believe you why wouldn't they incur the players legal costs?
With regard to the jackpot, an email to iPoker to ask what happened to the monies after this incident should resolve that. http://www.ipoker.com/html/page/contact-us
Just ask them what happened to the money that was not paid to this player.

and mansion were more than interested in this case as they are going to be badbeats new partners from today .(on the phone mansion were most interested out the 5 sites i called) , but they may or may not be doing anything to help OP , same with all others .
They have been partners for years.

I should hope so seeing as there are another cog in the wheel. BadBeat and Mansion should be allowed to examine all the evidence and make their position crystal clear.

Maybe the investigators here will have some fun with this.

In the hand history with the names that somebody posted instead of the "player2" etc that Brennan posted, there is a screenname called MakeYourself in the first 2 sit and gos.

Bigbrennan and makeyourself are both English and both on FCP(I'm an fcper also)

Also Makeyourself (Sam) has scammed an fcp'er. http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poke...ic=134071&st=0

The investigators could probably have more fun with it if bigbrennan hadn't pointed out and explained this himself early on in the thread...

I've read the thread. He pointed out that a known scammer that be linked with him from FCP and badbeat played in 2 of his SNGs? And if you read the the fcp thread the scammer had 2 ftp accounts and could easily have different accounts with ipoker.

Did I really miss where he explained makeyourself playing in 2 of his SNGs?

You can have as many accounts on ipoker as there are skins to register with.

Also, look at the hh's you will see there was no iffy play. He busted the 1st one within a few hands, and the 2nd one we got 3 handed yet there was no "soft play" to gain advantages.

Also - he was in SNG 1 and 2 of the run. Why would you collude in the first 2 when you still gotta win 4 more? lol

He pointed out that the player was in the first 2 sngs and that there was a link between them through badbeat.

The first 2 sngs would be pretty much the only ones it wouldn't make sense to collude in if you're looking to get 6 wins in a row.

So you do you know him? Have his aim?

I agree that the first 2 would not be where you want to collude. But what about the link of them both being English, have been on fcp which is a lot smaller than here, and one of them being a scammer?
