He likes to rewrite history a lot it seems.

Its kind of insulting he thinks he is a victim of FTP.

Nobody is posting threads, writing books, or doing movies about any of you haters.

Why?
According to him he was doing well at poker but when Internet poker became big he started losing at it and became addicted to it. Then full tilt offers him a deal where they pay him by depositing money into his account every month, enabling him.

He likely often lost that as well as some of his own. Sure, if he just withdrew his 20k/month or whatever that would have been great, but it's like paying a junkie in drugs and saying, "oh just sell them and you'll have a good salary."

I'm not sure if that's how he means it though. Maybe he means he had a good job if they didn't **** off all the players money and the company. That seems pretty reasonable too.

This guy is a joke. All he had to do was lay low and collect his free ftp money. Instead he blew it all. Nobody to blame but himself.

every once in a while I start thinking that maybe some of the oldschool live pros are actually decent and online community just ridicules them for no reason. Then I go on and either watch some hands they played on tv or (that's even more painful) listen as they explain they thought process regarding anything poker-related. And then I realize that they actually are all terrible.

I don't need to be able to beat them to cringe at their logic-defying thought process regarding decision making and probability.

Also, I'm pretty confident that I would actually be able to beat them if I have ever played them, just as any person able to beat midstakes+ online. I don't think there ever was a comptetent online player who would struggle to beat live games.

If i would be addicted to poker, i would have my own flat in london.

surely its an overstatement...I cant recall how good he was vs his peers in 2001...but the gist of waht hes saying probably is true for the crushers of the day.

They'd still be able to make the same simple plays over and over again for huge profits, if internet poker didnt encourage smart people to start playing and advancing strat.
