By the record and it is hard to argue unless you have more bracelets.
So right now the best golfer in the world is Jack Nicklaus since he has 18 major wins. OK ... so the guy is 70 now, but still, 18 majors.

The Hellmuth era is over.

He's already been on HSP, both as an observer and player.

No way.
But as has been said its realy impossible to prove is/was the best MTT player.
He's had an exceptional WSOP but I'm sure he wouldn't have got a mention before the series started.
He's obviously a very good player, and I wish him well, but I doubt he has enough chips to win the main event. Its possible, but I think he'll fail.

Mizrachi is definitely a good donkament player. 50k tourney def wasn't easy tourney, probably fourth toughest field just behind HORSE, 25k 6max and ME. Never been a big fan of him but definitely rooting for him @ FT, would be a great champion.

Re: Is Michael Mizrachi the best tournament holdem player?

You cannot number poker players, especially MTT players in rankings.
i.e.
1. Grinder
2. PH
3. Ivey

etc.... (those are not my picks, just examples)

The rankings in terms of money is also not very accurate. For example
Jaime Gold luckbox 1 event, horrible player.

PH plays every event possible. It would be best to construct some sort of
model with amount of hours played combined with winnings, etc...

If it were up to me I would group players in class rankings.
i.e.

Class A players - Elite Players:
Ivey, P Antonious, DN, etc..

Class B players - Expert Players
Kevmath, Jason Merc, etc..

Class C players - Intermediate
etc....

You get my point. There really is no definitive way to ever know who is considered the best since luck is a huge part of winning. Just ask Chris Ferguson when he won his ME title. How many times did he come from behind to win it at the FT? I'd bet he would say he was nowhere near the best, but he did get lucky, so would you consider him better then TJ?

Re: Is Michael Mizrachi the best tournament holdem player?

The people claiming Mizrachi is #1 best if he wins this are only smarter than those claiming he isn't a top 1000 player. There is a ton of variance and this is impossible to know but to claim he is not a TOP player is absolutely insane. The man knows how to play very well.

Re: Is Michael Mizrachi the best tournament holdem player?

phil helmuth is not number 1 just cause he has the most bracelets. Over a large sample size i can think of 100 people who are better off the top of my head
