I have no desire to watch a video of a man slay another man. The fact that this video has become the most sought after video on the internet repulses me. I am not surprised though. People have a morbid curiosity that takes over. I get it. Those who can watch this video .... I don't know how you do it. I am not trying to offend at all here.

The sites that post these videos claim that looking at this kind of material uncovers truths we wouldn't know about in regards to seeing death and gore. In my opinion, that's BS. As some one who has seen death in what I would consider pretty horrible ways, watching something on the internet takes all the real emotion of the moment out of scene. I don't wish the real feeling of a tragic scene on anyone. It seems like people forget that they are looking at another person. I am not saying everyone does this but comments left on these videos and pictures would suggest it.

What I do feel is profound sadness that a young man from China lost his life and that people can watch this video and forget they are looking at a real human being. I have read some of the comments left on the sites and some are just .... I can't describe.
My heart goes out for the family of the slain man. Because of our insatiable appetite for grotesque gore, they are victims to the ugly side of Canadian culture and freedoms. If it was my son in that video and I saw how it became a media sensation, I don't know how I would respond. I can't even fathom.
