There is a lot of love out there in the poker community for Bill Perkins and his "Pokerstars supported" Streamboat2 which also features Pokerstars Team Online Pro Jaime Staples, yet there is also seemingly a lot of hate out there for the Pokerstars brand and the recent direction it has gone in.

Are the lovers and the haters two separate groups of people?, or is this selective love/hate based on people's wallets, i.e. Streamboat2 = cash and tournament giveaways; Pokerstars = more rake on cash games and tournaments.

It seems like you want a discussion on this rather then asking a specific question.

Whether someone likes/ hates stars or bill are pretty seperate things.

If anything bills efforts for giving away Pca tickets/money and try and grow poker went unnoticed (as Chicago joey brought up in a recent podcast with him) so I can understand him bringing stars on board to get more exposure especially with Jamie and Kevin being there.

I'm pretty sure joeys prop bet of swimming will be the highlight though

I think you can be both. I definitely don't like the direction that Stars has taken in the past few years with the rakeback changes and how they carried those out. Having said that, there will always be something magical about the Sunday Millions to me and my investment in TSG stock has certainly resulted in a nice profit

Staples seems like a nice guy. Stars doesn't seem like a nice company (any more). Just imo.

Stars is still a huge online platform for poker, whether or not they have made some questionable decisions.

The majority of players still use it as their primary choice of site, so you can't get away if you like watching Twitch etc.

A lot of great people work for pokerstars. I'm not saying it makes it ok for us to work for them, but I wouldn't view our company's direction and the people who work for it as one and the same.

Personally I felt I could try to help more from the inside, hoping we get some changes going in the right direction.

Is PokerStars actually sponsoring streamboat in some way, or is the association just having some team pros around and Perkins giving away seats? It was my understanding that he's been doing that out of pocket.
