I have been thrilled to learn from several posters in this thread that actions don't have consequences when you're drunk! Wow, what great news. So drinking is just basically a free pass to do what you want in life... Who knew.

So, I only have second hand info, so take it for what it is, but I am originally from a place within driving distance to that casino, and I heard multiple independent accounts of that guy being a total scumbug. Also, I remember one night, we were playing 5/T in his casino, they were just setting up a 50/100 table involving LT and there was one player who considered jumping in. Several players at the table commented in a friendly way that they would advise he not do that because at tables with the owner there was fishy stuff going on. None of this is hard proof obv, just my 2c that I can contribute.
Most generally speaking, it should not come as a big surprise that a casino owner is a big POS. You gotta admit that business-wise he is quite successful

A big problem with the perception of the poker industry is that people think it's all about the money. "Business" and "Greed" then become people's motives.

This is a good short-term marketing plan for poker, but the truth is this industry is a card-playing industry, not a money-making/business industry.

This Leon guy seems to think poker is all about the end-result of making $money$ when the ultimate truth is that poker is all about playing cards, the money will come.

This guy's seems shady when he shouldn't be. I wish Magic: the Gathering card players would take over and become the true kings of the poker industry. I've found my mission.

The guy owns the biggest pokerroom in Europe, he is pretty smart when it comes to making money from poker.

And horse racing is all about grooming your horse, giving it sugar cubes and carrots and saying giddy-up. The money gambled on horse racing is secondary.

I hope those nice people at My Little Pony take over horse racing.

Pretty absurd if he's going to use the 'i was drunk' defense as if he was going to give the money back if he won and when Matt paid him 1.5m won playing poker in the very recent past. I assume Leon will settle and pay him unless he wants to never step foot in the US again.

I can't speak for him, but for me it is more a of a "hope" than anything else. Based on the info we have, it seems like Aussie Matt got bamboozled, and it would be nice if he is made whole.

Maybe he is shady maybe not. But in his casino he is using different currency then Czech crown because he doesnt want people from nearby small villages and small cities to go in and play. If he was only about money, i think he wouldnt do this.

From what I can make out of his motives he seems to like poker community and is doing a lot for live poker in Europe. That being said I dont know him personally so its just my perception of the guy.

Totall ******. He uses € because it is the currency of his wealthy clients (germans, austrians, other EU). Nothing to do with the residents, lol....??? I really want to hear your source on that. He is often smashed, also in his own casino. And then he likes to curse, throw people out, etc....not a nice person when he is drunk. And not sure if he is a nice person sober lol...

It may be the terms of his license, for all we know. I believe in Bahamas, Bahamian residents are prohibited from gambling in the casinos.
