This is true and it's really a head-scratcher for me. There are plenty of 2/5, 5/10, and above players in Austin. If they ran dedicated tables for 2/5 and above they would be filled regularly. I don't understand why they don't. I guess form the rooms perspective on a timed rake it doesn't matter what you fill the table with as long as it's filled...? Hopefully with the increased competition we'll start to see rooms spread dedicated 2/5+ regularly to attract that crowd.

Because just like A5s is the new AK... deep stacked 1/2 is the new 2/5 Ha.

But seriously when you can buy up to biggest stack in 1/2, these games have 1k+ stacks for 75% of the table quick. So toi compare them to casino 1/2 capped buy in games isn't really Apples to apples

Don't know why people are so focused on the legality of this or not... The bottom line is these rooms are great for the games. All the money staying on the table and not paying until you leave is soooo good for the action. I play at the Alamo Card House in San Antonio 3-4x/week, and the 1/2 action is really good with very deep stacks and the 1/2 PLO is absolutely insane, almost plays like a 5/10 PLO on some nights. The room is full almost every night (10 tables). At their old location, they got "raided" by the police but it was because they didn't have the right permits (or something along those lines) and they didn't care at all they were running a poker room. The card room in Austin has been open for what, 2.5 years now? Those of you staying away because you think it might be illegal are just missing out. If they get shut down, who cares, it doesn't affect any of us. Enjoy it while it lasts - which in my opinion will be a long time.

I'm not sure how we ended up with an LCP (Live Casino Poker) thread in NVG, but that's what this is now. Here's where this kind of discussion belongs:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/live-casino-poker/

Probably in an existing thread in one of the subforums.

Also, poker room reps need to be verified before posting (you can PM me or email me at the address in my profile), and non-advertising reps certainly aren't allowed to promote their room, use branded names, etc.

I've deleted a bunch of posts that belong in LCP and/or were related to what unauthorized reps were posting about their rooms.
