Any of these clubs offer 2/5 or higher on a regular basis?

None. Throne says they have a 2/5 table.

technically no regular 2/5 but from what ive seen the 1/2's play like 2/5 with people buying up to big stack and straddling lots. so not your typical capped 1/2 casino game.

That's what I've noticed as well at TCH. You can sit down and buy in with $300 and be short stacked big time at a 1/2 game! I've seen people rebuy $1,000 at the 1/2 table several times. Table 1 plays crazy there. Not so good for the casual guy who wants to go play a little 1/2.

^^

prob not the best decision for room owners unless they are playing in game (or have "friends" playing in game)

the above 1/2 structure will turn away many 1/2 players.

Number of potential 1/2 players in any market >>>>>> number of 2/5 players.

room makes the same money regardless of table stakes/rules. I'd go for the larger market.

Just start a 2/5 table. poker rooms in casinos have all this figured out, just do what they do.

Or hell, even 1/2 and 1/3. Have the 1/2 buyin be 100-200 and the 1/3 buyin be 200-400 and 2/3rds big stack.

Definitely going to scare away a lot of people if people are rebuying for $1k in a 1/2 game.

Yea there were 6 stacks on the 900+ range just an hour and a half in and straddles were common. Good stuff but intimidating for some for sure.

Yea, not a fan of1/2 normally but guess it'd be more profitable if the games play that deep. They arent infested with nit bum hunting regs that 90% of the money on the table isnt in play?

I'd be interested in starting a consistant 2/5 or 5/10 game at TCH if we can somehow gather interest.

Same thing I've noticed. I usually play the second table just so every hand doesn't have to a $200 call to see past the flop.

And what's the deal with the $13 per hour rate at the "private room". Isn't that just the room they play PLO in? What's so private about it? It's wide open, just across the lobby. Maybe there's another I don't know about or not invited to!

I played in that room when I went on a Sunday and it's all that was available. Was 1/3 and got deep fast as well.

Planning on checking out the north rooms soon.

Exactly. I live in Leander area so I'm very excited to not have to drive an hour+ each way to play. I messaged Chisholm Trail through their FB page and asked when they were planning on opening and they said mid to late May.

Yea the plano room recently made a change to suit rec players with their 1/2 being capped and no straddles and having 1/3 be big stack based rebuy and straddles allowed. Smart.

So Austin is about to have four "legal" rooms - crazy.

I played at TCH yesterday not realizing that it was the opening day for Throne Poker. TCH was really slow, only two tables and action was meh. Seems like a lot of action is going to be moving up north to Throne, TCH-North, and Chisolm Holm Trail.

I'm planning on playing PLO at Throne tomorrow and will update with a report.

So Throne says all new members MUST be referred by current members...really?? So how do you become a current member if they just opened and nobody's a member!? Seems odd...will call tonight.

Puzzle...in each town is a mayor..but the mayor may not live in the town he is mayor
So all the mayors live in one town

There are 3 to 4 tables of "regular" 1/2 at TCH. Table 1 is a bigger 1/2 game.

They also have a 5/5/10 PLO game on Tuesday night that plays very big.

Buy in is $500. Stacks are large. One guy left with 8k last night.
