Security against terrorism was brought up in the MTTc-Live WSOP thread. I suggested banning backpacks bigger than a large purse.

Islamists attacking music (Grande concert), gender mixing (Kabul), and now gambling. Predictable actions by #EvilLosers

The 2nd video in OP is a classic "I'm not leaving my machine/money for literally anything moment". 2 men with machine guns and masks don't scare me none!

This is unfortunate. Just met with Genting management last week in Singapore. I'm guessing this is a net positive for the Macau guys.

I was in Manila a few months ago, staying just down the street. A terrorist set off a bomb right down the street from the casinos. Not a word was said in the media. Makes me wonder how much happens we never hear about. They couldn't keep this one quiet.

Of course, today's biggest act of global terrorism just took place on the White House lawn.
This is more likely a reaction to Duerte's recent (days ago) decision to declare martial law in parts of the country to fight militants than any sort of global campaign.

Those untracked nosebleed Manila cash games are about to get a whole lot better. A new businessman or two to liven things up a bit. Either that, or they'll try to sell the chips at a discount on the internet.

I thought there was at least a small chance that this was some sort of false flag operation to give Duterte an excuse to declare martial law across the entire country. I'm assuming it's not, but I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out to be one.

Is the video posted in the OP confirmed to be from the casino? If so, why does the CNN article linked say it was a lone gunman when there's clearly at least 2 shooters in that vid? Maybe it's of the responding officers? Confused emoji

I lived in Manila for 2 years and have had some good times, but it's not a city I would recommend visiting. There are some nice restaurants and you can live like a king on very little but it's still a third world country beneath the first world facade. The city is pretty ugly, crowded and polluted. Many live in extreme poverty and hustle to get Westerners' money. If you do go, be wary of the overly warm and sycophantic personalities.

Last time I was there the air was so bad I got sick immediately and developed a bad cough that took 2 weeks to get rid of after getting home. Manila is a hellhole. Having said that I will probably go back for poker LOL.
