Not sure what industry people would be ragging on the game for aside from it being super soft. The only downside for me is the location and time frame. It's deep south austin and it's only open 4 or 5 days from 7PM to 3AM. I'm way up north so the drive is a bitch and it'd be nice if it was open later, earlier or both.
I was there Friday night also. Were you happened to be in the cash game next to the front wall that thing looked like it was a great table. I did not get there tell later so was in the 2nd cash table that started up. It was ok but not as lively as the number 1 table.

I started that table at 7 but then jumped into the tourney at 8. Made a quick $350 in the cash game but couldn't get anything going in the tourney this time around. Should be there again this Friday. Debating whether or not I'll play the tourney this time. Might just grind the cash game.

It did seem like a good game from what I could tell. By the time I busted the tourney the wait list was too long so I went to an underground game for a bit after. I stopped by there last Thursday as well and played cash for a bit and it was playing pretty deep. Lots of $10 straddles going on that night.

If any of you remember the lawyer that came through cheating with that card reader mechanism that ended up with one of the best rooms in Austin ever to get shut down when someone called the cheese because of it.
Yea I was around during that time. They hit my Monday day game pretty hard.

You must be talking about that warehouse nw off of Burn/183 road I think. They called in a hostage report or something. The MH.

Yeah, that's the place; the Madhouse. The cops knocked on the door and said they had a 911 call come from inside the building. The host said no one was in distress and invited them in to see for themselves, but they didn't bother. Then they started parking outside the place everynight to make it known that they knew what we were doing and were watching. He decided it was time to close up and move on.

Haven't been able to check it out yet but have decided to go Wednesday. You say a safe time to register for tournament is around 7?

Doors open at 7. Tourney starts at 8. I have not been on Wednesday so I can't say, but Fridays have been busy and the tournament is full or very close to full by 8. If they have enough players there at 7, they'll start a cash game immediately.

The guy that ran the Mad House just opened a new location that's pretty nice, safe and clean. He's got three tables open and is going to start running some pretty good tournaments on Sundays in addition to the 1/2 game.

I need to come through town and see some of the degens I used to play with. My usual spot was the 2/5 tues-Fri day game. I hear they have a day of plo and hi-lo now. Some real characters up there. Hope this "legal" game make it.

There is something similar here in SA. Called alamo city poker club but I haven't talked to any players about it. None of the degens in the 2 games I play at down here have been in there. Probably because they don't have markers and weed.

Day game? Are you talking about "The Mobile"? 2/5 most days, I believe Wed is PLO and Monday is 5/10.

Lol @ markers and weed. Yup, lack of that will drive away some players. Fine by me really.

Looks like the owner is getting sued:

Daniel Kebort; THE Poker Lounge Partnership
v.
Samuel Von Kennel; Texas Card House, LLC
4/14/2015 D-1-GN-15-001472

Fiduciary duty, fraud and misappropriation. Defendant Samuel Von Kennel broke a partnership agreement with plaintiff Daniel Kebort by forming Texas Card House, LLC without his knowledge and by stealing the partnership's trade secrets and business plans.

Talking about the place in the Domain? Heard it was really nice. There is another daily game that plays plenty big less than a mile away from there as well.

So many good games in Austin yall, you just need to meet one person that plays often and they'll likely know of ~10 solid games!!

Yea that's it. Good mix of nits and gamblers with plenty of money. Great stories. They have good food at that game too.

Monday's over there was where I got to watch Tony 's shenanigans.

Not familiar with the game in the Domain. This one is over by the Bingo Hall at Lamar and Anderson.

Caught up with the new location on Anderson for the Sunday tourney. $110 buy in for 8K chips with a single $60 rebuy / addon for another 6K. 20 min blinds, lots of levels.

We ended up with just short of 30 players and I managed to ship it for $1720.

Good tourney, wish we had more tables.

In town for a month... looking for a 1/2 NL game, please let me know if you need a reliable player!

I'm in north Austin, this TCH definitely looks interesting, will have to check it out.
05-15-2015 , 02:24 PM
I checked it out this week, and had a good time at the cash tables, solid action at the tables I played. Tuesday and Wednesday the cash tables started at 7pm and they had two full tables by 7:30, and by 10-11 there was a 3rd cash table running. Have not tried the tournaments, so I can't comment about the blind structure.

I need to check this place out. Only thing is is that I'm up way up in North Austin/Pville. If any austinites can give me info on games in north austin/pville/round rock that'd be cool.
