Re: Lee Watkinson's rescued chimp shot dead
I'm thinking you couldn't pay those guys enough to get in a ring with one.. But if I am wrong, I hope someone sets it up.

They lied to the monkey about her mate being killed. That is o.k. because the monkey does not really understand them. Keeping monkeys, o.k. chimps, is less than cool. Donate that money to a homeless man. Ol' carjacker monkey had TV and had been watching all that poker. He was headed to the Rio to make a loan to Brad Booth. Dumb monkey.

No English, only Cantonese and German, depending on which breed.

+1 and really any wild animals. How many times do you have to read/see about some, sorry, usually mentally unstable person, keeping a chimp, tiger, panther etc.. only to have it turn on them and run amok? Sorry I don't feel like going out to my driveway and find an enraged chimp ready to yank my junk off(yes, that's their go to move) and eat my face.

Re: Lee Watkinson's rescued chimp shot dead
Chimps are pretty sadistic. I saw a documentary about a chimp family/habitat, it reminded me of the scene in Apocalypse Now with just dead bodies strewn everywhere and everyone running amok. Chimps are said to be one of the only animals besides humans that kill for pleasure.
Pretty sure a chimp would take a leopard out too, they are insanely strong. A gorilla would take a lion etc etc

Re: Lee Watkinson's rescued chimp shot dead
In Texas, several people would have shot the chimp before anyone finished dialing 911. However, the female would have been spared there also, with our Old West chivalry and a soft spot for the gals.
In Texas, that angry chimp might have had a pistol, a handgun license, memborship in Sam's Club and in the Tea Party, and a degree from the University of Texas.

I watched clip on YouTube where a group of chimps chased another chimp (from enemy chimp group) on some tree branches and then ate the thing alive. It was a legit BBC clip, David Attenborough, maybe. There was a little baby chimp clinging to Momma chimp, who was part of the chasing group who was close by watching the action. This baby chimp was HOWLING in fear, and kept looking up at attack, then looking at its Mom, then grabbing onto its Mom's hairy coat and holding on in total terror.
Just goes to show that chimps are close to humans. This baby chimp new what it was seeing. I'm not even going to look that clip up. Total fear and panic that little chimp was displaying, just watching that stuff.
P.S. Here's the brutal video. Very graphic. At least, I think this is it. I will NOT watch it again to make sure, but you can.
