I thought Clerks was awesome, but I can see how someone wouldn't like it. I thought Dogma was terrible, and I'm very surprised how popular it is. Zack and Miri was very good.

You're right. Tarantino has NEVER won an Oscar. Certainly, he did NOT win one for writing Pulp Fiction.

Kevin Smith is the man. I love all the Jersey movies, and if you haven't seen Vulgar, well, go watch it.

All of the, "An Evening with Kevin Smith" where he goes to a college and just talks for about 2 hours are all pretty awesome.

This YT video is pretty good, it's him talking about initially writing a Superman script until Tim Burton kicked him out. It's not part of those DVDs but it's him at a college.

Yeah, he did one of those in vancouver when I was in university. Not having the $50 for a ticket is something I still regret. Clerks, Chasing Amy and Dogma are all pretty amazing.

I thought Clerks 2 was hilarious.

Although some of his movies have sucked, some have been pretty good. A lot of people like him because he seems like an average dude who, from the success of Clerks, has been able to make a career in a dream job. He doesn't come across as some arrogant art school dick. I give him props for casting Jason Lee in his first movie role. Before then, Lee was only known to a small group for killing it in such movies as Video Daze.

And comparing him to Tarantino is ridiculous, completely different genres. But, while Tarantino has had some killer movies as writer/director, Reservoir Dogs, Four Rooms, True Romance, etc.(which were all about 15 years ago) he's also had some complete crap too, like From Dusk til Dawn and Grindhouse.
