Kevin Hart signed with PokerStars WTF?? Kevin Hart signed with PokerStars WTF??

From my recollection, Kevin Hart is the first celebrity sponsor that is both an A-list celebrity AND an avid poker fan. I think this is great for the game. This next bit is wishful thinking but maybe PS is sponsoring an American celebrity because legalization in the US is on the horizon?

Bruno Mars would also fall into that category

this is what im hoping its a sign of. regardless his popularity does have global appeal. someone like that bringing more attention to the game is a good thing. plus i doubt its a huge multi million endorsement deal. this is probably something he is just doing for fun. why would anyone be mad at that?

No it's because we've seen over the last few years that the Amaya trade-off of "big name" sponsors in exchange for higher rake and worse service has been absolutely terrible for poker players. No reason to think this will be any different.

you think they're lowering the rake if they didn't sign KH?
KH will at least bring some new players into the game.whether or not he's actually worth whatever they're paying him- who knows.Makes more sense than sponsoring grinders who bring no fun players to the games.

the complaining is for the exact reasons i already stated in this thread.

As for the bolded-nobody on here had a problem when for years rec players were getting completely ****ed on pre amaya stars because it benefited regs financially.these players don't care about poker- they care about their own bottom lines.exactly the same as stars does. amaya is the devil to them bc now they're the ones getting ****ed. stop being hypocrites.

if amaya went back to the old way of giving fish the shaft and giving regs handouts destroying the long term health of the games the people benefiting would be fine with that.but since that's not the case all the sudden they're poker purists who care about the love of the game or some such bull**** and amaya is greedy scum.comedy at its finest.

regs are greedy, amaya is greedy and both only care about their own bottom lines.

Recs are getting ****ed now too a lot more than before bro. Higher rake doesn't make them win more often either.

Jason Alexander was a "friend" of PokerStars for a long time. I don"t know what qualifies someone as an A-lister, but he has been in movies, on tv, in music videos, on Broadway, on radio. He won a SAG award for Seinfield. Everyone knows George Castanza. He has played the WSOP ME with PokerStars patch.

agree but regs didn't have a problem with recs getting ****ed when it benefited regs. now it doesn't so all the sudden they care about the fairness (a total joke) of the game and the long term heath of it.

if tomorrow amaya decided they're gonna **** over fish even more, give that money to the regs the regs couldn't give half a **** about fairness. they're just as greedy and fos as amaya-amaya just has more power.

While I don't think Kevin Hart is funny, plenty of people do. This unlike many past signings will actually probably be good for everyone.

Jason Alexander isn't headlining any major Hollywood films or selling out arenas, nor was he in 2004. If PokerStars had existed in 1996 and Jerry was the "friend" of Stars, maybe the two arrangements could be comparable.

That's right Alexander is only headlining ( obv with Jerry and cast) the NUMBER 1 SYDICATED show of ALL TIME !! So his presence will be around for a long time on streaming sites and cable / plus Seinfeld viewers are in a much higher financial demographic (DISPOSABLE income !) then your run of the mill Kevin hart viewer/ fan boi . Plus ROW stars is not available for Americans. Would rather see a Brazilian celeb .... If Kevin hart is the # 1 comedian ( maybe like how hashtag is #1) in this era and I'm not disputing he isn't , It's a sad time for comedy . The golden era is long gone , the libtards have been pushing the PC culture and censorship agenda for awhile . Any chance you get to see the Chris rocks (black out tour is solid) of the world do it because it seems the libtards are shrinking free speech by the day and who knows what the masses are going to deem acceptable tomorrow. P.S. I hope comedy never gets CUCKED....

If headlining in major Hollywood films or selling out arenas are the qualifications to be considered A-list, then that is a very, very small group.

Well, yeah. Isn't that why it's called A-list?

The forums would be full of discussion of legalization if it was close enough for Stars to be able to justify signing celebrities to promote it.

Yeah, I'm sure with over a billion dollars in non-US movie box office returns, and being the world's highest paid comedian with worldwide tours, no one outside of the US will have heard of him.

I don't have an opinion about his talent as I don't think I've seen a single movie he's been in, but your post is pretty ridiculous. Of course he's much higher profile in the US, but he'll have plenty of appeal elsewhere.

He's a likable character that interacts well with the pros and the average joes. He's got enough cash behind him to give action (if he's not staked ofc) and he knows enough about the game to not be the biggest fish at the table.

Don't see the issue.

He's really well known in Europe, in particular the UK. He's definitely very relevant right now over here.

Ronaldo, CR7 and Neymar Jr had a huge impact, especially in Brazil. but i think after some years all their fans have either signed-up or ignore poker anyway. so re-signing isn't as valuable as bringing in a new face (which also has a total different fanbase).

and while he might not be as recognizable as those football stars (globally), his brand seems to grow strong. we also live in a time of YT and netflix. so those 'few', who know him, might be very valuable as a target audience.
