I used to own a porsche dealership back in the late 90s in Miami. A weird time there is making sense to me now.

Thing is I had this one customer who looked kinda like seth rogan. A real trust fund kid, daddy made his money importing knockoff semi automatics. Every friday night for about a year he would call me up in a panic I need another ride I need another ride. So I would throw him the keys to my dealership and he would go take what he needed. Every monday morning some tow truck company would roll up to the dealership with the porsche in a sorry ass state all beat up, usually with purple stains on the inside of the windscreen. He was always good for the money so I never thought twice about it until now.

Am I the only one saddened by how much the WCG/Ben86 drama has seemingly detracted from the real life accounts and encounters with borsches and Jonah Hill!

Guy was SUCH A whale. Kid would come in, get loaded and just burn THOUSANDS and be like yeah this doesn't touch me and have his brother go get the Porsche.

I always liked this kid. I Did the biggest double take ever when he said name was Efraim Diveroli in the movie. Hadn't seen any previews. Pretty cool seems like only yesterday kid had the world by the balls

I used to play with him at mardi gras in hollywood, fl a lot. Pretty sure Gulfstream and Seminole as well. Been a long time.

The games were still $100 max buyin. So everyone would go all in preflop until whole table wsop sitting on monster stacks... he rarely let off the gas even after he got a big stack. Games were nuts. I don't think i can give a fair assessment of proper strategy at a $100 max buyin game with a 20 year old kid who just made a few million dollars overnight
Great movie, and Hill nailed the part.

Shows how much of a psycho/narcissist that this punk was/is. Not sure if that is the case in real life, but that is what the movie put out.

And, I watched Wolf of Wall Street yesterday...terrible movie. Hill was bad in that...MS did an awful job with that one. Really can't believe that people think Wolf was a good movie...MS is the most over-rated director of all time. Him and Quinten Tarantino...very bad.

Both movies were based on real people and real events.

He wasn't much of a NL player because the buy-in was capped at $100. But once he got a taste of PLO he really shined. He'd just say "pot" for about 2.5 hours straight until he got up to a monster stack then he'd really start to apply pressure by mashing "pot" in and out of position.

I remember one hand it was 5-10 PLO I had 8sTdJsJd board was 5s7s9d. I had the wrap with a flush draw + over pair and a back door jack high flush draw. "Pot", "pot", "pot", "re-pot", well at that point he pot was pretty bloated so I just said "**** it I'm all in, if you got the straight you got me." He just tossed his Porsche keys in the middle, so elegantly, like Johnny Chan when he had the nuts vs Erik Sidel (as seen in Rounders). He said "I got the nuts" and turned over 5h7hTcTs. Just 2 pair and blockers!

Turn was the 9h so I counter fitted him but of course, lucky in poker, lucky in life he rivers the 5d for the full. I'll never forget that hand, when he scooped and tossed the keys over he shoulder to his brother. I think he said "pull it around, nothing left here." Never got my roll healthy enough to play those $100 buy-in max games again. Those were the days.

Sounds crazy but the $100 cap days in FL were the glory days of live poker. Makes me sad reminiscing.

Carry on

What do you expect from someone who describes Scorsese and Tarantino as very bad directors?

It was a few years ago but I was playing £1/£2 at The Vic. Brash American guy sits down, said he was in town on business. He insisted on a £10 max buy in so we were way outside of my comfort zone. Anyway he got bullets and stacked me.

He shouted out for his brother who couldn't get the Porsche up the stairs so he dived out the window and they sped off towards Hyde Park.

When his brother gets the borscht out it's game over.
