if Bill Clinton advocated for Al Qaeda in the media for a fee, it might bring credibility to them, but you could still hate Bill Clinton for doing it.

I could be wrong, but I only count 1/3 of these things being done.

This. Have the HHs been released? It sounds like he thinks they have been. I particularly like the use of capital letters, and the attempts elsewhere in the blog to draw a line under the whole thing. It reads like it was written for him, imo.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet
Joe has been a very decent guy in the community. I am sure he realizes that he's putting his reputation on the anvil here for the world to beat on, so I also feel sure he's taken a hard look at this and done his due diligence. Obviously, if anything goes down while he's on board over there, I'm sure he realizes that he's 100% cooked.
I certainly think he deserves the benefit of the doubt here. I hope all goes well for him on this. He seems like a very likable, good guy. And I certainly don't begrudge anyone helping themselves financially in what must be a brutally expensive part of the industry to operate in (donkaments).

Ehhh, or maybe the scummy site of UB/AB were the only ones that would offer anything to him and he took what he could get.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet
I agree with giving him the benefit of the doubt, just having won some money at WSOP main event, and being a generally successful tournement player and son of Barry Greenstein, I can not image that some sort of money based sell out is all there is to this story. I urge all of you to read Joe's explanation on pokerroad main page, take a moment to consider the kind of person he is, and think if you might want to give him the benefit of the doubt in this and reserve judgement until we see whats going on and what he is able to accomplish.
anway, screw the scandal, who wants to be associated with Hellmuth!

Probably not. He knows 2+2 hates him already so he has nothing else to lose from this crowd.
And the rest of the market doesn't care about the UB scandal despite the 60 minutes expose and ample information available online.

What if he can't get the hand histories/names released and get a full refund to everyone who lost money to any of the superusers? Does he have the option to end the contract (and does he intend to use it?) It's completely possible for him to have the best intentions and still do a lot of damage to the poker community.

If the HHs ('ALL' of them) have not been released, then you are giving the benefit of the doubt to somebody who is already lying to you. Have they been released? (It's a genuine question, because I don't think they have, but I don't know for sure.)

really?, 2+2 hates Seebs? Im a big pokerroad contributor and have referenced good threads in 2+2 many times. the official stance of Pokerroad management has always been to encourage interaction with the other poker sites, its a noncompetative business model and no one is ever criticized there for saying this or that pokercast on the other site is worth listening to etc.
Odda I dont know about the HH. The sentence you refer to is a complicated one, Im not sure Joe means what it actually says, or it may be an honest mistake, or it may be the case that all the available HH are in the hands of the authoriteis, I dont know the specific answer to your question. I do know that Joe is a good egg and one of the good guys in poker, I very much hope you guys will at least follow the situation, and take the time to evaluate the big picture before you write him off as a tool forever.
I actually agree that UB should be out of business, but that ship has sailed, and as long as it is here to stay, we might as well have well meaning intelligent people working there, as oppossed to dimwits and egomaniacs. Btw UB recently signed another good, intelligent young person, that being Bryan Devonshire. so lets see what develops before we get our panties in bunch,

I don't see why anyone is surprised, this is the same guy who doesn't know basic math. It shouldn't come as a surprise he is an idiot.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet
nobody cares where you play. or what you like or what you listen to.
ppl make Business decisions to feed their families, by ppl saying im not going to listen to poker road anymore, that's not gonna change the fact that the guy is a human being and he need to feed himself and hes family, regardless if you like him or not,
and I play in all sites Starts tilt and UB ,, and Ive never had a problem with either one

He mentions three things: HHs, account names, perpetrator names. He says they have achieved two of the three, 'As most of you know'. The implication has to be that the HHs have been released. If they have not been, then far from employing a well meaning intelligent person, UB have actually just signed another liar.
I don't see how it could be an honest mistake either. He goes to great pains (if he has written it himself) to say he has got actively involved and asked lots of questions. He claims to have been actively involved in the HHs question. How can he make an honest mistake of saying the HHs have been released if they have not, if he has the involvement he claims? And if he is counting just putting the involvement in as one of his two of three, then why say 'As most of you know...'? How could we know, if he has only just made the announcement?
He is claiming the HHs have been released. Or whoever wrote it for him is. If they have, all well and good. If not, he is lying. If the HHs have not been released, then how fortunate it is that he doesn't work in journalism, where honesty is considered pretty important.
