Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

The lack of transparency in this whole thing (and the ridiculous amount of time in between updates) is going to keep everyone skeptical no matter what they do. If they release the HH, great. First we will wonder if it is all of them. Then we will wonder if they were altered. Even if we knew for a fact that all the HH were there, we have to take UB/The KGC's word that all of the superusers were identified and released. Its pretty hard to believe that the list is complete when they have changed the number of SU accounts several times.

I am looking forward to getting HHs, but we will all be at least somewhat skeptical no matter what they do at this point.

The poker industry is shady as hell so it's always funny to see people get on their high horses every time someone signs with UB. Good for you, Sebok.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

I haven't followed this closely enough lately, so I apologize if this has been discussed.

What I believe is at least 9 months after the 2nd round of refunds, the KGC comes out with the SU names and states that there were more SU accounts than previously thought (117 instead of 88 or something along those lines). How could the refunds be correct if they didn't have all the SU accounts when they calculated the refunds?

that's why there was three rounds of refunds. they have known all the names the whole time just never released them until recently.

I wonder if he will be "impressed" if/when after 6 months the HH's still have not been released. Will he then openly condemn UB or make excuses for them. I guess we can only wait and see if UB does release all HH and if not, what will Sebok say about UB at that time.

I think this is pretty unlikely. I doubt this arrangement would've been reached if they weren't willing to finally ship the HHs. As stated earlier in the thread, part of Joe's appeal to UB right now might be that he gets to come in and "clean things up" publicly when they were planning to release the HHs soon anyway.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

You really think that they've just flat out lied to Joe, knowing he would post it on the internet? It would be pretty silly of them to just try and placate people for like 2 months followed by even more outrage, when the scandal really isn't getting nearly as much play anymore, and people are beginning to forget about it.

I'd bet alot of money that we will see at least some hand histories within the next few weeks.

With all this time passed what would stop them from making up HH.

lol @ his tweets - "...nothing is perfect, man...that's what the world is..." & "...hold your own, know your name, and go your own way..."

maybe he should use this one as well "... time will tell, Think you're in heaven, but you living in hell.."

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

I have read through this thread and think ppl are being slightly unfair to sebok. Ive being recent fan pokerroad and have listen to many of the podcast and browsed through their forums and noticed that joe isnt someone that cares to much about material items and hearing ppl around him say similar things. So i dont believe that Joe has entered into this deal with UB simply for financial purposes. So with this said I think we should believe that sebok is honest and respectable person and give him the benefit of doubt until he proves as otherwise.

I will still listen to pokerroad because I for one enjoy the content but obviously this will not change my stance on playing with UB.
