I certainly hope it was well worth it. There will certainly be a price in the future.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

IIRC , they haven't released anyone's name other than Russ Hamilton because they've been cooperating with some unnamed authorities. I'm sure that once these unnamed authorities hear that Joe Sebok himself wants the names released, that they will be forthcoming ASAP.

Here's what the list will probably look like, in part:

Russ Hamilton
Sam Lisu North
Thor Milnauss
Milo Thrussan
Thom "USA" Rilns
Monti Shursal
Lars Monthius

So I'm new, obv. But where exactly would a guy like Seebs best be utilized? Poker Stars, Full Tilt, ... doubt it. He's an honest guy who can do a lot to benefit poker. With a site like UB that has Annie Duke and Helmuth behind it, do you just kiss its integrity good bye or do you make honest efforts to rectify the past? Seems like he might be the Lebron of ethics that saves the franchise. I hope he helps give online poker the positive PR it needs to get federal legislation passed to benefit us all. I'm a newbie, but I'm just saying.

As usual NVG'ers view of the big picture is whatever is directly in front of their faces. Considering Joe's reputation, he gets some benefit of the doubt as far as going into this with good intentions goes. And I certainly can't fault anyone for making a dollar.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

Convinced of what? Fine keep perpetuating doubt about the legitimacy of sites and see how well that translates to voters and political constituents in getting any kind of legislature passed. If a site can't rectify itself of a poor image and negative associations, neither can the industry. The PPA can gather a gazillion signatures and raise millions of dollars but if the online community is going to be stubborn about its own culture, we're going to have a hell of a time convincing the bible thumping crazies that think we should all be in hell.

Sorry, hi everyone. I always read but never join in. No time like the present.

Yeah but Ultimate Bet stole millions of dollars off poker players. Everybody knows it. Joe Sebok has clearly taken this money and whatever he might claim in terms of getting information into the open or whatever he simply has taken their money. Wonder who 'Pipi Longstocking' is....

i said this over at pokerroad and i will say it here.

if it's about money, just say that... or, don't say anything at all.

Don't feed us bull**** about knowing that ub has finally cleaned up their act and it's going to be great from here on out. (coincidentally this is always said as someone collects the paycheck)

I think this actually brings credibility to UB.

Dude must be desperate for $$$$. Good luck Joe, hope you got the Ca$h up front, Ultimate Cheat has knack for promising more than they deliver. Just ask former sponsored Ultimate Cheat pros.

Now I can stop listening to Poker Road all together, credibility now shot completely hey but now maybe Annie and Phil can co-host poker road instead of gavin, annoying fat unprepared slob replaced by a whiny bitch and Annie Duke...

Will the poker road store now cross market the Phil Hellmuth clothing line...

Like him less even now and wasn't sure that was possible.

The thieving scumbag cheaters from AP still own the company. If he ever wants to address that he can get his ghetto pass back. Until then he's another sell-out with a bunch of bull**** rationalizations for being a whore.

I think being a prostitute is fine but don't tell me you are selling bibles and bringing us redemption. You are putting money in your pocket so quit pretending like it's about anything else. Just ring the cash register and STFU.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

If i were seabok and I couldn't get a deal at any of the big sites I would've signed with UB. STILL VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT HIS DECISION AND I DON'T THINK HE SHOULD OF DONE IT. MAY OR MAY NOT LISTEN TO POKER ROAD IN THE FUTURE. DEPENDS ON IF THE CONTENT IS GOOD OR NOT.
