Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

The thing about UB is that It has roughly about only 20k people ona peak hours. I remember when they were a solid site that was pulling in around 50k. of course back then FT was starting to grow.

Was sebok ever signed by another site before?

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

The big problem is that Joe for so long criticized others for doing this exact same move. A sponsorship deal is something that shouldn't be turned down but I would hope Seebs would realize how big of a hypocrite he is.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

Congrats Joe!

I've was never affected, never played on UB and therefore have limited haste in the situation. People need to chill out ITT and redirect your anger back to the multitude of "We hate UB" threads that.

I still think 75% of people commenting would snapcall an opportunity to work within the poker community for a pricetag that is probably pretty impressive. Joe Sebok has absoutely no affiliation with the scandal and above all, publicly said he's trying to help

...Wow, I have no idea where that came from, I'm not a UB supporter, nor a Joe Sebok fan really for that matter, just sick of the people saying I just unsubscribed to pokerroad because of this.

At least one person will still be listening!

I just hope everyone also boycotts pokernews, cardplayer, etc. etc. who post and refer far more customers to AP/UB then pokerroad ever will even with Joe Sebok's affiliation.

Speaking of hypocrites... This has been going on for 2+ years now, and my guess is that people still click through all of the major media outlets who shill for AP/UB. PokerRoad were the first site to put these companies on blast and report the news that all of you in these forums discovered.

I certainly don't think this was a great decision, but if we're going to grab our pitchforks as we do every single time someone signs with them, let's not forget there are a bunch of doors we forget to knock on, and the poker community seems none the wiser.

Lol @ anyone who thinks this is a bad thing for pokerroad, even if every single little kid on 2p2 "boycotts".

Don't think so mate, can't remember reading anything about him being with a poker site prior to UB.

Seebs on the Inside Deal

One of the first comments between Andrew Feldman and Sebok is how many pages the thread will be on his signing.

Re: Joe Sebok signs sponsorship deal with UltimateBet

very very disappointed from someone who is trying to build a reputation like Joe

His radio show was pretty terrible anyway, but I certainly won't ever be associating myself with pokerroad or Sebok in the future.

I don't know why I'm so surprised that people have no morals when they're offered a juicy sponsorship deal

that was even before they admitted it went all the way back to 04'

Make that at least two. It's hysterical to see so many people say they were big fans of Poker Road but they won't listen anymore. Probably the same people who said they will no longer listen to the 2+2 podcast because they had a shortstacker on their show. I wonder: (a) how many people will follow through on such claims? and (b) will it make their lives more satisfying?

I'd put a lot of money on (a) not many, (b) no.

Why is it everyone who signs for UB turns into some sort of nodding dog with a wierd smile?
