Exactly. Making fun of the fact she sucks is beyond dumb. If even one woman sees Jennifer Tilly on TV playing poker and thinks "Oo, if she can play, I can play", and goes to play poker, that's one more new player to the game, which is +EV for everyone. Yeah, she sucks at poker. Yeah, she only wins because she plays in so many tournaments, variance will eventually kick in and she'll ship one.

So what? It's good for the overall health of the game, and she's a nice person who likes playing poker, even if she stinks at it.

The average person showing up in a thread like this to bash Jennifer Tilly probably hasn't made 4 cents in their life playing poker, lives at home with their parents, and hasn't gotten near a pair of cans 1/3 the size of hers. What's wrong with thinking that she sucks at poker? I'm sure A LOT of people on here are much better and put in 100x more time playing than she does, even if it's grinding small stakes. She has plenty of money to blow on high stakes events. It doesn't mean she's better than everybody who criticizes her.

Thinking it's one thing, constantly spewing it forth is another. It's petty, ignorant and just plain wrong. In this day of wunderkind poker dynamos who can tell you how many thousands of hands they played last year and how many tables they grind 12hrs a day (while begging a stake), a 50+ yr old woman binked an open high stakes tourney in the casino synonymous for high stakes poker. That's not freaking bad at all. Good for her that she's obviously got a passion for the game and is seriously pusuing it, and has accolades to show for it.
