i was told they are bomb sniffing dogs.

also from my limited knowledge of drug dogs they don't just start barking at people walking by with weed.

the dogs have to be instructed to check a person/car/object and then alert if they smell something.

they're not just "on" the whole time.

i could be wrong, but i had a conversation with a guy who trains K9's for LEO and that was what he said.

its HIGHLY unlikely you will walk by a drug K9 unit with weed in your pocket and dog will alert.

also drug K9's don't bark when they sniff drugs, they generally are taught to alert by sitting down when they sniff something of interest.

sitting down is definitely!!!what i have seen with my own eyes.. can't say it's highly unlikely--because my only really close up experience with it was on jamcruise and it made all the papers lol/rolling stone/high times etc.-

--also lol at the other poster for saying obama is the reason for all this silly drug hysteria. wake up!!

Yeah, Doyle tweeted that definition a little while back (except referring to cowboys, not mafia), and I checked Wikipedia right after... Makes sense and sounds cool but probably not the origin.
