keep on hating but this is the guy that went from being one of the most powerful men in holywood to one of the best poker players in modern day history, $400 for one days education is fantastic value and I'll be signing up to learn from the best.
I see what you did there!

Not sure if I have the story completely right (Im sure someone else will chip in and correct if I dont), but JG was/is like a low level hollywood agent and he and his partner in this agency had a promo tourney to attract more clients with the ME seat as a prize. I think either the tourney never happened or he binked it himself against a bunch of non-players. But either way, he was sponsored into the ME by a company he only owned half of, so he really only owned half the seat.

When he won I think he tried to ditch and run, and his partner (who owned the other half) had to sue him to get his share, which was eventually settled out of court. So say $6M, minus taxes, minus legal expenses, minus whatever he lost on HSP, minus 5 years degening...

Broke=possibility...

With the stories of people going broke, does 12 million even surprise you? Iverson like 100 million, Antoine Walker 80 million. Tyson, 300 million.

12 million is like a drop in the bucket.

The more I think about it, the more this actually seems like genius idea. What better way is there for a pawn shop to market to degenerates?

Re: Jamie Gold

Advertising a pawn shop to a load of degenerate gambles is definitely +EV.
