Ill play because the overlay will be sweet (if its not a scam)

it's a €600 rebuy event ... plus there is a 6k buy-in option for D3 (?) ... so it's basically a (huge) major event on a football field w/ the online satellite played in the stands.

That doesn't explain how. I take it you've already contracted a company to handle this. Who?

The event is almost a year away, but I will let you know the details for this as soon as I can (I'm compiling a list of what I consider to be the most important questions asked here on 2p2, and from there we'll put all answers in an FAQ section on ispt.com .

One poster already mentioned plastic cards and of course all players will have to bring their ponchos and umbrellas .... Don't worry, we will be making sure everyone is kept dry and comfortable.

How long do you expect each shufffle to last and how many people to you expect to employ to do this?
I don't have exact details on this yet, as I'm only just on board as a promoter, but I think you're thinking the wrong way around, players won't have to physically moved around at all, but the way the tables break online will be properly organised.
I would imagine the software will be designed to have at least ten sections of the stadium allocated, from there the system can break tables and make sure that no two players from the same area end up on the same table....At this stage this is just what I understand based on conversations with Prosper, but either way the issue of players seeing other player's cards is a major issue that will be dealt with (and details of how it will be dealt with will be posted as soon as possible)

That's the beautiful thing about a guarantee, it means that you don't have to worry how many players show up, whether we end up with a €20,000,000 or €40,000,000 prize-pool its still going to be massive

The format is likely to change from unlimited re-buys to max spend €1,800 (not including the direct live entry for €6k)... that might have something to do with that [and also the fact that a €20 million guarantee will probably draw the same number of players as a €30 million, so why risk the extra €10 mil.

As for guarantee not meaning what it says I can't really answer that. Each player will have to make their own decision if they want to take part or not. But I would like to add that licensing this event is not a straight forward thing to do so to me the guarantee means what it says on the tin....and the reputation of Wembley Stadium alone stands above all else (they would not get behind this if there was not serious financial backing behind ISPT, which I think everyone can see).

Anyone who knows me would know that whether an event makes money or not the player's prize-pool is guaranteed to be safe and I would not get involved if I did not like the owners of this company and the team they have working with them, as my own reputation as a tournament organiser is obviously my own bread and butter (I have been a poker tournament organiser for a long time and I intend to be one well into the future).

Cheers,
Stephen.

Still waiting on what you'd consider fair odds for a prop, but I'd like you to spell out explicitly what you mean by the €20m prize pool.

Note, it does not at all say guarantee.

Try using wembleystadium.com not wikipedia.
From The FAQ's
"For the majority of event days at Wembley Stadium, the roof is in its fully closed position – lined up with the touchlines leaving the seats covered but the pitch uncovered. "

this is either a really elaborate troll/level, or one of the most misguided ideas in the history of poker

I wish I had a buck for every time a poker promoter or site did not keep their guarantee.

On days 3-6 the blinds doubles every 6h of play, but on day 7, when the stakes are a lot higher, they double every 2 hours. Why is this so?

If you get 30k players, some of which rebuy and then a bunch of people buying in on day 3 for 6k, then there is a good chance the tournament won't be over until the 1M/2M blind level is done, especially as the blind levels are very short on day 7. How late in the night can you keep the players and audience there if this happens?

That was when they expected to use full tilt as a feeder site. Once tapie deal fell through, tournament downsized due to much less online satellite possibilities.

Is carfax the ISPT rep here? And he doesn't know that Wembley Stadium DOES NOT have a covered pitch?

Nobody else thinks we should boycott this tournament? Tapie basically tried to steal millions of dollars from the poker community in the FTP case, and you still want to put your money to his pocket?

He is a promoter, sorta like the card flicky guys on las Vegas blvd.

Also ispt has a convention center or ballroom or something close by as a rain location. Can't link cause not sure where I read that but I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere.

(personally I think tents would be more fun but whatevs)

Wembley Arena is literally next door ... I suppose that would make sense. But hard to believe they could afford to hire Wembley Stadium AND Wembley Arena on the off chance it rains.

Large marquee tents would work OK I imagine ... although would kinda defeat the purpose of playing on the pitch ... but as a last resort would be OK.

If it happened I'd defo play just because of the sheer weirdness of it all.
