The re-buys cost €600 too.

Day1: its 30,000 players that we are aiming to take part in the event. Each player will need to have their own laptop in order to take part as the tournament (although all players will have to be in attendance in Wembley Stadium) is taking place online.

Day 2: Remaining field still plays the tournament online (its a really deep structure) http://www.ispt.com/en/program/grid/

Day 3: Remaining players progress and the tournament becomes a live tournament (ie you carry forward your stack from Day 2). There is an option for players to buy directly into Day 3 for €6,000, in which case you will start the day with an average stack (the tournament will be very close to ITM).

Day 4, 5, 6 & 7 continue live, on the field at Wembley until a winner is declared.

There will be a full live side event schedule throughout the week.

Hope this makes it clear. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Stephen.

Thanks for explaining this. I'm looking at the tournament schedule on the website you linked to, and I have some questions.

What percentage of total participating players (both online and live day 3 buy-ins) do you anticipate making the money? Or are you going to wait until day 2 ends to come up with the payout structure?

The reason I ask this is your post above implies that Day 3 will begin having not yet made the money.

I expect the vast majority of players who play this to come with a single bullet (and not rebuy).

Day 3 starts where the cost of the BB equals what players start with on Day 1. Based on the structure, I would expect that the average stack would be around 40BB to start Day 3, or about 200,000 chips. Assuming that to be the case, someone can buy in for 40x the starting stack for 10x the initial entry fee? In a tournament that is about to hit the money?

What will the minimum payouts for the bottom tier of those who cash look like? I'm assuming it will be something like €1000, so that players who started from day 1 and cash will make some money and players who bought in on day 3 for €6000 and barely play at all and mincash will lose money.

Re: International Stadiums Poker Tour, Wembley May 31-June 6, 2013, €20,000,000 guaranteed

I posted this in a different thread around a month ago, echos some of the same concerns as the player above me. Have you consulted with any tourney pros on the structure and unique format?

"I'm having a hard time seeing 30,000 people clamoring to go sit in the stands of wembley and play online for a few days, with a whole day of rebuys and online dealing speeds the structure must be insane. There are some big problems with the direct buy in as well, how can they announce that it will be 6K to buy in direct, when it's a rebuy. Depending on how many people they let buy in direct they could be getting an insane overlay.

An example as I understand it

If I assume the avg players rebuys twice, that is 1800x30,000=54mil

Lets say they cap it at 2K "online players" and 1K direct buys. 1000x6000=6mil

So the direct buys would pay 6K to enter a 3000 person tourney with a 60mil prize pool (obv rake plays a part too, I haven't found it stated anywhere, it would have to be insanely high to not make buying in direct incredibly +ev). They have stated the direct buy ins get an average stack."

If 30,000 people are all playing on laptops, on the internet, why do they even need to go to Wembley?

"...Days 4,5,6 & 7 continue live, on the field at Wembley..."

So the stands are now empty for 4 days while they play on the field? Why even have it at Wembley if the stands are empty for the last 4 days?

If people are in the stands, who are they? The people who busted out? You don't seriously expect people to sit there, in the stands, for 4 days after busting out do you?

Re: International Stadiums Poker Tour, Wembley May 31-June 6, 2013, €20,000,000 guaranteed

has this playing on laptops in the same venue then transitioning to a live torny been tried before by the organisers on a smaller scale? say with a few hundred or even a few dozen participants etc..? will it be tried on a smaller scale before going ahead with this event?

Or do they believe that they've anticipated any potential difficulties with this rather unheard of format and they might as well just go for it with the anticipated 30,000 entrants and millions at stake?

This is about the most ridiculous tournament in the world. I can tell you one thing there will almost certainly be rampant cheating!

It's just the laptop part mainly but that part is so ridiculous that it just ruins everything.

You guys are really too negative. Give them a chance, if you see a problem, then give a detailed post with your concerns. Just making a post calling the whole thing stupid doesn t help, its just a waste of space.

Who cares if the stands are empty. They already said there would be lots of side events going on.

\Bathrooms, yea. What do you think goes on during a football game with 30,000 fans?

Why is there no pay-out table listed on the ispt website? Most well-run tournaments list payouts (in % terms) before the event begins.

Will the full €20M guarantee be paid in cash immediately to the players? The reason I ask is because the Tapies had proposed paying out Full Tilt balances over time, and not giving players cash immediately.

There doesn't seem to be much of a reason to do anything other than buy in for 6k on day 3 if they're that close to ITM

Thats completly different. He was doing them a favour by buying the company and would pay back over time and pay small balances off straight away.To pay back everyone straight away meant a lot would take the money off the site and he would go broke himself.

Here if they receive the buy in off a certain amount of people then they have the money so should be able to give it to them no bother. He never loses money here unless they dont reach the guarantee

Maybe the mincash is closer to 600 than 6K or something, but grinding the online portion of the tourney seems pretty worthless if you mincash for >6K.

I was hoping to hear from carfax, not you. Are you involved in the event? If so then tell us. if not, then please shut up and let us ask carfax questions.
