In what I originally posted, he is clearly recanting the statement you just quoted.

I bet he said some really dumb stuff when he was 10 that he has since corrected, are you going to post that next?

Edit: Well, I was close, but you didn't go all the way back til when he was 10.

Also I learned some things from you Ike. I'm glad I didn't refuse to watch it just because I thought you were annoying a long time ago. I gave you a shot and I learned from it. Don't let any of these guys get you down like I did at first... You freestyled for THREE HOURS and did a damn good job answering questions... Don't bother replying either, I know you're reading this... And yea, it might sound like I'm on your nuts, but I'm not. I'm on Ivey's nuts...

I'm not sure if English is your first language but I said that Rogan was a moon-bat for many years (up until 2012, I believe). The fact that he has since come to see the stupidity of his ways doesn't contradict anything I said. He changed his mind on the subject about a year before the NDT interview and here we see him still trying to argue "hoax" specifics with a dude who has a PhD in Astrophysics.

great podcast. I liked the explanation Ike gave when asked about what playing HU is like, I may use that to help explain to my friends who are new to poker.

thought it was a very entertaining and accessible interview, and one that could be enjoyed by both professional players and rank amateurs alike.

well done.
Totally agree w/ everything here. Can't believe Ike is getting a hard time for pausing. We are in a world where virtually nobody thinks before they speak. Cable news shoutfests, hilariously bad talk radio, and positively embarrassing sports "analysis" on ESPN, etc. dominate modern media. Shout first and think later (cuz, ya know, gotta get your hot take out there...LeBron's a choker!!) is the order of the day.

Luckily, we have someone like Joe Rogan to give a brain like Ike a chance to breathe. I enjoyed the entire interview.

It was very cool to see a great rep of us degenerates on a non-poker/gambling show.

Someone already mentioned it on twitter, but I nominate Haralabos as the next great gambling guest on Rogan's show.

Yep, Haralabos would be great for many reasons, obviously. The best thing, though, would be their bit of shared history.

According to Bob, Rogan used to call his ex-girlfriend (while she and Bob were together) all the time. Making plays for her, trying to get her to leave Bob, etc. Bob has mentioned it a few times on twitter.

**** it, let's start a campaign right now! You listening, Rogan?

I knew almost nothing about Ike before this but great interview. I think Rogan is great that he'll go off on tangents that have nothing to do with the guest. They spent a lot of time talking about New Jersey and Gov Christie and Tesla and marijuana, etc.

Ike is obviously a smart, sharp guy but the interview was a complete snooze-fest. Between his slow, deliberate speech and dry subject matter it sounded like a professor being interviewed on NPR.

I love poker and all but damnit man, loosen up! It would have been fun if we heard some crazy, degen stories. It probably would have been a good idea if Ari was there since he knows poker and could have bridged the gap a bit between Ike and Joe. Maybe throw Joey Diaz into the mix too. He knows how to get the party started.

I don't think Ike is the kind of player with "crazy, degen stories," at least not involving him.

For that kind of interview, Rogan would need to get Brad Booth, Viktor Blom, Brandon Adams, Todd Brunson, Gus Hansen...really anyone who is a well known massive losing player. Probably won't happen though, as almost every high profile player who loses money and goes broke playing poker becomes irrelevant and people like Dan Bilzerian who "netted $50,000,000 profit over the last 12 months playing poker" are the types of guys going on Howard Stern to talk about it. I think Bilzerian and Antonio are the only poker players who have been on Stern and it's quite a stretch to call Bilzerian a poker player.

Debtonaire, thank you for your opinion that the interview was a snooze fets... HOWEVER, I was actually listening to the podcast with about 9 good friends of mine from Europe who have never played before... Upon their arrival home, EIGHT of them were so excited by the interview that they decided to try out online poker. SEVEN of those EIGHT have already lost some money and basically donated to the poker community. Only one of them got lucky and won a tournMent after losing in the cash games. SO... This is why you shouldn't discourage somebody, or say they were boring or whatever...

I fell asleep like 10+ times listening to the podcast, so I don't know what you guys are talking about ike pausing or it being boring.

Pardon my nittery but...

Rogan is full of it! At one point in the broadcast he doesn't know what the button and the flop is but then later on he brings up online poker bots and poker players moving to Vancouver (why bring up Vancouver, specifically?) to play online. I highly doubt that someone who doesn't know what a flop is would be aware of poker bots and the exodus to Vancouver.

Also, Macau has been around way longer than 15 years. I remember a James Bond movie from the 60s or 70s that had scenes in the casinos of Macau.

It's possible Daut would play Qx this way, but if he's bluffing all his hands worse than K high he's way unbalanced toward bluffs. Plus his limp range is weighted toward low cards etc. I'd have to watch the whole show again to be sure, but I seem to remember Daut had some live tells that Ike picked up on too.

Rogan does not play poker. He is a curious and very popular guy who who probably heard one of his many friends talk about online poker and having to move to Canada and cheating bots. Maybe Vancouver is the first city that came to mind, or maybe he heard more then one person moved to Canada... That is most likely why he does not know what a flop is, but know what bots are. Is there anything else you would like explained to you?

And leconnassuire, Rogan is not a retarted meat head. Yes, he is a fighter and can probably kick your butt and mine, but that doesn't make him a meat head. He is pretty smart... Maybe even smarter then you...

Qx is a bluffcatcher in this spot and would probably fold a lotttt considering it was 2007 and like under 10 people in the world 3 bet bluff shoved rivers. (esp in a million dollar tourney)

Super sick play.

i dont think rogan was playing dumb. he just doesnt play poker hes said before he doesnt "gamble". but anyways think about how many people / experts in other fields he has come onto his podcast. you dont think any of theses people are dumbing down what they have to talk about for average listeners. it wasnt a poker podcast it was intended for average people and thats the **** that is good for poker. but then again your prob. the guy who berates low stakes players when they draw out on you.
