define crushing and define gamers cause the number of mass multi tabling grinders who make lots of money playing poker, without beeing really "known" and who used to be gamers is pretty high, and very hard to determine.
I learned to love poker through a love of gaming, but I dont know exactly what qualifies as crushing... making $1m a year? Very few people are there. Making a comfortable living is fairly easy however.
I've never played any of the esports games, but am pretty heavily involved in the fighting game community and have done pretty well. I know nano, hevad khan, and a few others were also pretty involved in the fgc, and have gone on to do very well in poker.
Used to play with a guy who was pretty solid in Age of Empires. His name was Vagabond_Lion. Someone told me he plays under Vaga_Lion and has won millions. Such a sicko

Is true...Rob Akery...plays under Vaga_Lion on stars and full tilt. Successfully moved from NL to PLO and is still found in the big games when they run.
There's a whole bunch of the older generation of SC:ers that aren't really known but from what I've heard have done well for themselves... Slayer (the norweigan one, not the korean), SaFT (no idea what he's doing nowadays but he was playing fairly high for a long time as far as I know)....
Unsure if Freedom went back to Poker again after his brief Sc2 stint.
Byun-Eun Jong (i think that's his stars nick as well?) was a pretty famous SC2 player.
Some Korean old WC3 pros I've heard are doing good in China/Macau poker...
EDIT: But yeah, really depends on how you define 'big success'.
Walter Brown, many-time U.S. Chess Champion, has beaten mid-limit poker all his life. Some might not call him a "crusher," but he is a very good player and a steady winner.

Kinda surprised David Williams hasn't been mentioned yet. Gabriel Nassif has a couple final tables as well I believe, but I don't know if that counts or not. Eric Froelich (sp?) is also from Magic.
