Exactly my point though. I'm arguing that all of you know exactly where you stand in comparison to each other. I doubt the outcome of this event has much of an influence on how much action you get from the other regs, which seemed to be a huge concern of yours (and sauce's).

Re: HUNL Cash Game World Championship

Isn't it a pretty decent solution to just keep variance in there to a higher degree? Obviously playing a ton of hands against one another will be horrible w regards to the action problem. Surely playing 5k hands or so won't separate you all too clearly from one another unless there is some specific matchup where one of you happen to fit the opponent exceptionally well.

Or maybe I'm underestimating the skill difference between a very good high stakes HUNL reg and an excellent one?

Re: HUNL Cash Game World Championship

Seems like a silly argument anyway.

Whats the difference of playing 50k hands vs each other in the next few weeks and one of u realising hes outclassed as oppose to playing 50k hands vs each other over the next 2 years where the same thing eventually happens anyway....

You both still win and lose the same amount.

Re: HUNL Cash Game World Championship

I think this is a cool idea, would def rail. I like idea 3 the best because it has the most play and lowest variance, then 2 then 1. It would be awesome if someone did a video on part of a match explaining thought processes etc (obv I understand why most wouldn't want to do this).

Btw Kanu WaSOP is March 10-11

Who would you rank as the top 5 NL HU players on Stars?

Re: HUNL Cash Game World Championship

Is there any concern about metagaming outside of the championship effecting results? Like for example, if InternetGuyX is matched against Ivey or Isildur, and they don't know who InternetGuyX is but he's railed them a whole lot, InternetGuyX would have an advantage that would probably be even more significant over a small sample.

You also then open up the possibility of people discounting the results due to things like that in the same way they blasted Hastings for HH-sharing against Isildur.

There's an unspoken code to not post this stuff publicly. It would hurt their action.

Similarly, if someone thinks they're the best but they're not, there's an unspoken code to let them keep thinking they're the best.

Re: HUNL Cash Game World Championship

Its obvious this thread is entirely about Heads Up cash game players online feeling like there left out. They dont feel like they get the attention "they deserve" which im not so sure about. Just because you are willing to play a super high variance heads up game, doesnt mean you are entitled to some sort of fame because of it. In all hoensty, I know it takes talent, but this thread seems very, very desperate, and its motive is so clear.

You all should have taken up acting if you wanted public fame, not poker!!!!

Make your money and shut it.

Heh, it's not just our little subset that does this.

Bobby's Room has gone far out of their way to pull off absolute miracles convincing the fish that they are the best player in the world. It's been done a few times w/ very high profile players.

lol you must be posting this and laughing at the same time right?

do you really think kanu or ike will stop playing each other if you think one is better than the other? same goes for durrrr, people have been saying he sucks at nlhu for a while but just before black friday he was still giving action (and odds!) to play him hu.

Didn't Jungleman do something exactly like this?

I guess it doesn't apply to numero uno.

Obv I don't blame you for not answering though. If I were going to play this thing and I thought some guys were better than me, I wouldn't want them to know it either.
