He did admit in an interview that he was aware of some his own completely avoidable leaks such as watching TV and movies whilst playing which was distracting his concentration and knowingly playing much stronger players than himself in Mixed Games, such as Alex Luneau in 2-7 and O8 limit games. He said that he was playing those games (at $1k/$2K Limit)!, to help him learn them!!
I for one hope that we see Gus Hansen back in the poker big time at some point because with the correct game selection, or maybe even some of the same game selection as before but with more study first, he is for sure one of the smartest, most interesting and most likeable big name players the poker world has ever seen.
i saw gus lose a million to sallywoo in 1 day on fulltilt
i think that was the name
then he said he was broke on there at the moment and it said it would send him another million till he got some more
Gus has been on Twitch a few times recently playing at Kings Casino (I think is the name)... playing 50/100 NLH. He drinks and gambles, and is not good from what I've seen. So nothing has changed basically.
There once was a Dane
That no one seemingly could tame
Winning money all he did
Times passed, he rigid
Until one day he had lost every penny to his name
There once was a mad Dane named Hansen,
who lost millions with only his pants on
something something backgammon
something something a salmon
blah blah blah blah Richard Branson
I met Gus in Ireland a few yrs back before the final gg of FTP, he was playing 2/4k O8 hu (I assume vs one of the sickos) whilst texting someone and trying to set the high score on the pinball machine.
He was probably getting huge amounts from Full Tilt, which had an almost endless source of funds from deposits. His Full Tilt stock was also probably worth at least $100 million. I'm sure he thought it was nothing to throw away $20 million.
