I have a significant balance with FTP and want to cash it out.
I've been looking on the forums for information on how I can get this money back, but no-one seems to have looked into it. So, I have decided to stop lurking and register
I made some calls last week. I spoke to a very helpful lady who works in the court in Alderney who told me it is real easy. She even looked up Filco for me and confirmed that they were an Alderney company and who I should write to.
This procedure works only for claims under 2,500 pounds (about $US4,000). For higher amounts people will have to file a law suit using a different procedure. I guess most people will be owed less than $4,000.
You first write a letter to Filco in Alderney demanding they pay you your money back. Here is the address and suggested wording:

Filco Ltd

Dear Sirs
I am a customer of yours with the username [xxxx]. I have a positive balance with you of $[xxx]. You have a contractual obligation to return this money to me on my demand.
Therefore, by this letter, I demand that you return this money to me by [7 days from date of letter]. If you have not returned the money to me by then I will ask the court to issue a summons against you in the Court of Alderney.
Sincerely,

Assuming Filco will not pay the money back, you then write to the court with a check for 50 pounds (note it must be a check for GB Pounds). The check is made payable to "The Clerk of the Court". Here is the address and wording:
-----------------------------------------------
Sarah Kelly
Greffier
The Court of Alderney
Queen Elizabeth II Street
Alderney

Dear Ms Kelly
On [date] I wrote to Filco demanding they return $[amount] to me. I gave them 7 days to pay. I enclose a copy of that letter.
At the time of writing they still have not paid this money and have not replied to me denying the money is due and owing.
I therefore ask that you issue a summons against this company on my behalf for repayment of this money. I enclose a check for 50 pounds to cover court expenses. I confirm that the company owes me this money.
I look forward to hearing that the summons has been issued and whether you need anything else from me.
Sincerely,

After the court has issued the summons they will serve it on Filco and set a date for a hearing. If Filco do not turn up and defend your claim, the court will grant judgment in default and order Filco to pay you your money back. If Filco do not comply with the court order, you can then apply to have the company declared insolvent. Again, this is a simple procedure.
If you don't do any of this, you will have to wait for FTP to give you your money back. Doing this allows you to take control and get your money when you demand it - not when it suits FTP.
For those who go this route, they will get their money because if Filco don't pay you, they will be declared insolvent and will lose their Alderney gaming licence.
