Rich Muny of the PPA is on today's 2+2 Pokercast talking specifically about this bill and explains how the proposed open market system would be comepletely different than what has occurred in France.

The problem in France was that the players had no voice in the regulation process at all. The playerrs voice is being heard through every step of this process and should result in a different landscape

Also, AFAIK there is no proposal for a system wherein only US players would play against each other domestiaclly. All proposals of for regulation of international poker sites.

Yes but there is or was an opt out clause where each state could decide if they wanted to allow it. I'll be sunk then in the great progressive state of Alabama
