House Financial Services Committee Markup on HR 2267 (passes 41-22)

Link to watch webcast of hearing

If the above link doesn't work in your WMP or other player, try VLC (www.videolan.org)

Seven bills are being marked up today, so it's possible that HR 2267, which will license and regulate Internet gambling will not be done today. It currently appears third on the list, but that doesn't mean they'll take up the bills in order.

There are 70 members on the Committee, but the last time a bill relevant to Internet gambling was voted on in markup (HR 5767), it lost by a vote of 32-32.

Edit: To see HR 2267 with amendments and roll call votes, click here

A tie is no good in politics apparently.

Also, for those who have Fox Business, Greg Raymer will be on around 10:30am ET.

It may be a while before HR 2267 comes up for discussion.

I'll amend the title of the thread when they discuss the bill in question.

Re: House Financial Services Committee Markup on HR 2267 and other bills 10am ET

Just announced 30-45mins more of debate on current bill then lunch. Feel free to tune out until at least 2pmET.

btw: I'd like that guy (as far as I can tell it's always the same guy) who keeps asking for a recorded vote to disappear forever - the one they did was 20-5. I want the chair to move that he be declared votenit of all time.

Last edited by Punker; 07-27-2010 at 12:30 PM. Reason: votenit!

I think the votenit was the "gentleman from Georgia", or some other deep south state. He is the reason why this **** will take 10x longer than it should.
