Ok, so I've never used a bot and I would never ever want to. I love the game of poker too much to ever use such underhanded software. But, I did register with a bot company to receive email updates.

This way I can find out what is going on and unfortunately it's not pretty. Read this E-mail and see for yourself..

Greetings.
We are sending this message to everybody who requested the download page location for our popular Holdem Bot software within the last 30 days. Several important events have happened during this time. The first thing we want to address is the off and on downtime our web pages have had during this period because of DDOS attacks.

As we have discovered, being a successful business attracts the evil element on the internet. Now that our Holdem Bot has evolved to the powerful threat that it has become at the online poker tables, there are forces that want it gone. Not the poker rooms, because they love getting as much rake as possible. But the other good players see the bot as a threat because it is cutting into their slice of the pie making money from loose poker games.

We starting getting these DDOS attacks about a month ago but have now moved to a more powerful server and have a protection package in place, so our web pages are stable now. If you had any trouble accessing the download page for the free demo before, you should have no problems now. Here is that location again:

Secondly, the latest version of Holdem bot now supports Full Tilt Poker again. We had supported them in the past but removed them recently because they have become a bot-unfriendly room. We decided to re-support them due to an overwhelming number of requests from customers willing to take their chances there. The User Manual has been updated with the Full Tilt setup instructions. If you decide to risk it, don't keep much money in your account because this room is now higher-risk for using a bot at.

The other poker rooms we support seem to love us and are very low-risk at the moment. Lately many of our members have been using the bot to stalk the bad beat jackpot at UB with great results. Every time it is hit we get many reports from those who got a piece of it, and in fact the last time it hit we had one member whose bot was at the same table and received a nice table share in the four figures. Jackpot hunting at UB with our Holdem bot is getting pretty hot and it's only a matter of time before one of our members hits the big one with it.

If you are not a USA resident, BetnGo is turning out to be a poker-botter's paradise. We get almost daily reports of the bot making a big MTT score and the deposit bonus is being successfully cleared in the cash games there. Plus we have an inside guy there who is setting up our members with a special sweet deal just for us (see the user manual for more details).

That's it for now. Have fun at the tables and see you at the cashier.

Sincerely,

I have erased the website, email address and company address for obvious reasons

This should have always been the case.

As for the bots on FTP, I would hope that FTP would have someone investigate from their company, and get their hands on one of these bots as well as the new updated manual and then the programmers at FTP would be able to disect Holdem bots newest "workaround" and start cutting the legs out from under these scumbags once more.

I don't want to support cereus but none of the sites are "bot friendly". Any software that their bot is compatible with they will call "bot friendly".

How well these sites catch and punish these bots is another matter. They apparently ran for 2 years on FT before being caught.

OK, I propose we form the "Bot Hunters League". We will operate like Batman, in the shadows, hunting down the botters where they live, threatening their health and destroying their servers. We can pool our funds and buy ninja outfits and learn to infiltrate data centers and private homes. This is a war against the forces of evil people! Who's with me??

(Yes, I have a lot of time on my hands right now, I live in Washington state. )

The people writing that message are trying to sell a product, so of course they are going to make it sound like people are profiting using their bots. Turn on the TV late at night and there will be people telling you how they made millions in real estate and you just need to buy their system to get started. It's about the same thing. The truth is these bot are mostly losers. Some are breakeven/ marginal winners. LOL, it's not like there a bunch of bots out there binking tournaments left and right. And then of course theres that whole thing where the sites confiscate all funds and close them down when they catch them.

If you are suggesting the person who wrote that e-mail then there's a chance. If you are implying myself, then no I'm not. I wouldn't touch that site with a barge pole.

No, not at all.

They are using the term 'bot friendly' to mean 'the poker sites put little to no effort in to catching bots that run on their site", to the extent that implicitly they are permitting them to run.

FT is now considered 'bot unfriendly' due to extensive account closures last month. Nothing in the OP suggests otherwise. However it appears they have re-enabled FT support despite this due to customer demand, but they still stress this is 'high risk' and recommend other, more 'bot friendly' sites.

They consider UB so 'friendly' to bots that they mention information that would make it very easy to catch one (he was at the last bb jackpot table).

Whether you believe any of this is another question, but what you said ("Any software that their bot is compatible with they will call 'bot friendly'") is inaccurate.

From my reading of the OP, there is no new 'workaround'. What are you referring to?

My understanding from that email is: FT support was removed from the software due to all account closures last month (it wasn't that the bot stopped working on FT). Due to demand from their customers, they have now re-enabled support, however they clearly stress that it's consider 'high risk' to do so as it's clear FT are now pro-actively trying to shut these bot accounts. They rather recommend to run the bot on more bot-friendly sites.

Why erase the botting site details? Don't you want them outed?

Any chance you'd pm the site. I don't use bots gonna use bots but on a finnish forum there's a betngo rep and I'm pretty sure he would be interested in this.

I want to post the details up with their company address, email and URL but I don't see what good would come from it.

Anybody who wants to play around with bots would have a direct link to the site and it's great promotion for that site to be put up on 2+2. Also, I may be banned from the forum, again I'm not sure on the rules but it's better to be on the safe side.

I'll Pm you now and hopefully the Finnish site can take a look although I'm pretty sure they already know what's happening.
