Not sure how to delete/edit old posts but the room has been taken.

Not too bad if you split with 1-2 people.

You're still going to pay $1k+ each for rent and thats assuming you don't want to live in a mouse hole.

You get what you pay for. Worth it.

To each his own I guess. I don't really see it as "getting more".

Just got in here, looking for short term furnished rental somewhere outside the city, but not too far outside. Price range, 1k - 1.5k. Any suggestions?

That sounds awesome Introl, I would love to go as your date, haha...

It says on the FAQ page though:
Q:Can I bring my friend/wife/sibling/other?
A:No. VIP Club Live parties are only open to PokerStars VIPs who purchased a ticket.

Also, Participants will be admitted based on the name on the PokerStars account that ordered a ticket. Please remember to bring photographic ID.

The website information is outdated. Ticketholders are now allowed to bring +1's to the Vancouver event. Hope to see you tonight!

PR card isn't an easy process.

Also, for those who have been in Van for July: our first, and likely only, full month of sun! Third Beach never loses its magic.

Anyone want to PM me information on private games in Vancouver? When 5/10 runs at Edgewater it's amazing action, I really wish they would just open a table of it more frequently and be more willing to promote it as like a weekly or twice weekly thing. I talked to a few regs and they all said they'd be willing to play 5/10 at least one day a week so I'm sure it'd be easy to get started.

Why don't we try doing a 5/10 or 2/5/10 game (mandatory straddle) every Friday night? 5/10 Fridays, brilliant!

Also anyone know of any one bedroom apartments/condos that will be available from September 1st for 3+ months? I currently live on Richards between Smithe and Nelson and I like the area a lot. It also seems a lot cheaper than being right in the heart of yaletown or on the water etc.

Would need it to be furnished, have some sort of space for computer setup (preferably a desk or some sort of den area) and hopefully stay around or less than what I'm paying now which is 1850/mo (which includes all utilities, Internet etc). My current place is like 650sqft which is fine for me by myself, but my girlfriend is moving in with me September 1st so I definitely would love to have more room.

Is this even possible in the downtown/yaletown area? It can be closer to Granville Island as that's where my gf works but not further away from it. Definitely want to be far away from DTES, lol.

I've been looking around a ton and its really hard to find a furnished place in this area that is 700+sqft for under 2k/mo. If anyone could find me a few listings or even a reliable website that'd be awesome and much appreciated. Would definitely owe you a beer or two.

Also I've been here for quite a while and know the town pretty well. I moved from USA so anyone who is considering making the move to BC from USA or has questions or whatever feel free to PM me and I will help as much as I can with info.

What's the general consensus on the best burger and sushi place downtown? I like Miname a lot (awesome Japanese food and good atmosphere). Also really love Romer's Burger Bar, probably the best burger I've had in Vancouver. I live right by Ace Burger Bar which is pretty good as well, but not close to Romer's.

ace burger bar is very hit and miss.
i recommend Alpha Sushi on the corner of richards and helmecken as a nice go-to neighborhood spot. you actually have japanese ppl making the food and japanese ppl eating there unlike every other place cheaper place around.

Agree Ace is hit or miss, Romer's is by far the best IMO. You should definitely check out Miname though, it's expensive but worth it.

re: the Edgewater game, they used to have a game every Wednesday hosted by Matt Jarvis, the 2010 november 9er, it was half NL half PLO I believe 5-10 maybe 10-20, so there is a precedent for the type of routine game you're suggesting

The 5/5 PLO has been trying to get a second table (must move) game going lately as well. Talk to them and consider a split NLH/PLO 5/10 game! I know I'd play.

I would be down for this. Get a mix game going. 5/5 prlobly b easier to start
