Re: The Godfather of Online Poker (photoshop series)

Can we please sticky this thread to the top of every single forum here, and can we have an instant alert for whenever the next installment comes in?

Predictions:
-Sammy Farha as Sollozo
-Phil Hellmuth as McCluskey
-Dan Harrington as Tessio
-Greg Raymer as Clemenza
-Johnny Chan as Barzini
-Scotty Nguyen as Moe Greene

Re: The Godfather of Online Poker (photoshop series)

I'm overwhelmed by the response. Thanks, everyone! I honestly didn't know how it would be received. It makes the two buy-ins I dropped at the Borgata today a little easier to take (AA over KK and set of aces over set of fours).

One reason I'm glad to see everyone enjoying it is that "The Godfather" is my favorite movie (followed closely by The Godfather Part II). Even though it's a lot of work, I like thinking about and watching the movie and weaving my story into it. I'm glad to see that there are a lot of other Godfather fans out there. If some of you younger guys haven't seen it yet, rent it today and soak in every scene.

I'll probably post new installments more often (not needing to finish as many frames as this opening installment). I thought this first one had to close on Vanessa's head scene.

To answer wilneedheart: (how did I feel when I finished?) I felt relieved because it was a lot of work, but I also see how much work is ahead. I was thinking if people hate it, will I take the time to finish it?

Gondolin: That is a funny photoshop of the thread ratings. Thanks.

Regarding thoughts on who is casted as whom and representation from other sites, remember the story that is unfolding. The Corleone family runs Full Tilt. The others can only be antagonists. Regarding who will be the Turk, there is already foreshadowing to that in a conversation between the Don and his consigliere (Tom). And who that is has more to do with the plot line that will unfold than who looks most like him (I try to take both into account when possible). The Don also gives a hint of who Clemenza is in one frame, which can be verified in one of the other scenes if you look closely (look for his body shape).

Regarding shipping donations: I'd rather not put my hand out directly, but I am willing to point you to a site that prof3ta set up in response to the "Poker-Shop a Comic Strip" thread that has the screen names of several of the photoshoppers from this forum so they can be recognized: http://pokershopped.comicdish.com/.

When is the next part? I'm going to be pretty busy between now and Memorial Day. Hopefully I'll get some time before then, but probably won't be until after.

Thanks again. Any further comments are welcome and appreciated.

Re: The Godfather of Online Poker (photoshop series)

looks like he's already said Joe Sebok is Sollozzo. I would have liked Annette's face on of the little girls in the family picture.

Great job

Re: The Godfather of Online Poker (photoshop series)

Instead of a beheaded V. Rousso in the bed, I was expecting to see a fully headed and naked V.Selbst or K. Liebert. (Still shocking.)

Further casting ideas:

McClusky--Harrington

Connie--Tiffany Michelle

Carlo--Hellmuth

Hyman Roth--Johnny Moss (if we see a part 2)

Moe Green--Jeff Shulman

Fredo--Doug Lee, but only if you can get past the Asian thing...

Rock on, OP!

Thanks, Doc. Note that some of these are already locked in. Connie shows up in the family picture, and Howard mentions her by name in another scene. Carlo also is in the family picture. Fredo (Phildo) already makes an appearance. Remember, the Corleone family runs Full Tilt.

You deserve 9 stars for offing ruosso.

You haven't looked closely enough. There is a body part prominently featuring the PokerStars logo.
