Re: Gobboboy: Poker Police?

The button pays the antes for the table, so there's an additional $600 in the pot, and why you see the initial pot as $1,200 instead of $600.

When they describe the format they say something like "The blinds are $200/$400 with a $100 ante all of which are paid by the button"

What does that mean? Every round bb posts $400, sb posts $200 and button posts $100?

Or is it just a normal ante game where sb/bb is $200/$400 and all players post a $100 ante?

The 'all paid by the button' part makes it sound like the button posts the antes for all the players.
I'm really shooting in the dark here, but if they say that, they probably mean it. It's called a button ante, the player on the button pays the ante for the entire table and puts it dead in the middle. This is so everyone don't have to throw out a $100 every damn hand, instead they pay a full round every button.

edit: And I guess kevmath got to this eight minutes before I did. Fail.

Also, like was said, I'm doing some consulting work with Joe and the people working with the stats to make sure that everything is okay in the lingo to make sure everyone on 2p2 is happy. I like the way the show has turned out and I hope you guys like the commentary. Maybe in the future I can get in the booth myself.

Re: Gobboboy: Poker Police?

Gobbo rocks at commentary, as he proved last year during the WSOP webcasts.

The commentary on this show is actually really good, which is rare.
