Bit confused about the premise but $5m to be invested. Cliffs:

- 8 franchises, with a roster of 7 players (draft), including 2 online & live qualifiers.
- 10 week season, including online component.
- leveraging GPI/HendonMob relationship with 1,400 casinos in 95 countries

Not much else released yet but seems to be a hybrid of team poker and a poker league. No buy-in data, dates etc yet. Bit skeptical of team poker/such a top heavy 'pro only' series, but the online qualifier bit might be ok.

I think it's cool. Team Poker can work really well if structured correctly, it creates a lot of banter and camaraderie. Problems only really arise when you have people from the same team playing at the same tables, so as long as that is kept to a minimum I think it can work well.

This is interesting. It's a tough concept but I think Dreyfus is a good guy to make a run at it. So many people have tried this kind of thing and they've pretty much all failed miserably with horrible consequences to the poker community. From everything I've heard though, this guy is pretty solid and squared away.

GPL has expanded into China with 12 teams and Championship team gets 1mil RMB and represents China to play in the finals in Vegas as stated in website above.

Next we see from the schedule the championship team will be born on Nov. 18th.

I guess Season 2 needs to start up soon if there's supposed to be a China team playing in the finals in Las Vegas? But i guess they can also hold off indefinitely...i mean the Championship team could represent China but with no time line set this could be done in 202x and they are still true to their word.

Sounds like the ChinaGPL is to the GPL what the Caribbean Winter Leagues are to the Major League Baseball season, then? Greep, it's probably hard to find that info because that info has not been made official/public.
