As I’m sure most of you're aware of, there will be a challenge between the Full Tilt professionals and three out of PokerStars’ professionals in London this weekend, and I’ll be there, LIVE, to cover it.
One match will be played at a time, starting with the Swedish beast Viktor “Isildur1” Blom for the Full Tilt team and the tournament genius Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier for the PokerStars’ team. The match will start at Sunday, March 10th, 10:00 ET. Three hours later, the “feel based player” and hyper aggressive Tom “durrrr” Dwan will represent his Full Tilt in a face-off with the extremely talented and “math based player” Isaac “luvtheWNBA” Haxton, playing for PokerStars. And last but definitely not least, the two men that got this challenge to happen in the first place, Gus Hansen, representing team Full Tilt, and Daniel “KidPoker” Negreanu, representing team PokerStars, in a match, in turn, starting three hours later then the start of the previous one.
If you were unaware of the challenge or are uncertain of the rules or the format, please
watch this video, where Daniel Negreanu himself explains most of it. What may also be interesting and isn’t included in the video is that the games will be played with 3,000 starting stacks and 15 minute blind levels.
I’ll cover the matches in this thread (i.e. providing you with big hands of the matches, match results as well as chat logs), but
I’ll also be there live with some access to the players and therefore, I’d like to ask you guys what you’d like to know from the players? Do Viktor miss the Swedish meatballs, do Ike regret cutting of his longer, infamous hair and how many five year olds would Negreanu be able to take down before going down himself? Drop the questions in this thread and I’ll do my best to convey them to their target
(I’m a 19 year old kid trying to make an impression; I’ll probably be down with asking some pretty absurd questions if that’s what you guys want.).
The matches will all be able to watch live in the Full Tilt client so tune in there or tune in here for live coverage of the games and the assessment of which site has the best professionals! The exact times of the matches is as follows:
- Viktor "Isildur1" Blom vs Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Sunday, March 10th, 10:00 ET
- Tom "durrrr" Dwan vs Isaac "luvtheWNBA" Haxton, Sunday, March 10th, 13:00 ET
- Gus Hansen vs Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu, Sunday, March 10th, 16:00 ET
The reason as to why I get this opportunity and what I’ll be doing in London in addition to covering this challenge will be posted on
my personal blog, starting later tonight and then (at least the plan is) follow it up with regular updates throughout the entire trip. It’s actually usually in Swedish; however, I’m making an exception for the trip as I’m aiming and hoping for a bigger crowd (wow, did that sentence make me sound ******ed).
Ps. My first question in a possible interview with Dwan will be how many Rs there really is in his nickname and why it is so incredible hard to write it correctly.
