I'd be happy if we get paid before the 1 year anniversary of this whole thing (which is ironically my birthday....last year b-day sucked )

Anyone else still get the feeling we're only going to get like 53 cents on the dollar (80/150th on the dollar technically)?

I mean, obviously 53 cents per dollar >>>>>>>>> nothing. And I still now officially LOVE France because of this deal

But I just get the sinking feeling that the DOJ won't cough up the balance to cover. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

(this is wild speculation, I have talked to no one, and know nothing more then anyone else on these forums)

I'm not gonna answer a question like that because my ability to pull numbers out of my ass when I have inside information isn't much better than my ability to pull numbers out of my ass when I have no information.

Does Tiltware software still own the FTP software or is it now owned by the DOJ?
The forfeiture hasn't taken place yet, and no ownership has changed hands.

So, basically nothing happened that we didn't already expect to happen. Please wake me when the first check clears.

Regarding payouts, are the DOJ handling accounts that were created in the US or US citizen accounts?

If a non-US citizen lived in the US and created an FTP account, who would handle the payout?

i can't recall the specifics of it, but the 80m figure somehow gets dropped to 40m to the DOJ (it's been discussed extensively in the ftp containment thread)...also Tapie will only be responsible for ROW debt which is speculated to be around 150m...and it is still unclear yet how that 150m will be paid. so i think 430m is quite a bit more than Tapie will actually be putting into this

well 300mill players and 80milll doj ,

i be reading 350mill on the net ,look you see it too -google it

7. As of March 31, 2011, Full Tilt Poker owedapproximately $390 million to players around the world, includingapproximately $150 million owed to players in the United States. At that time Full Tilt Poker had only approximately $60 millionon deposit in its bank accounts. As of the filing of this Amended Complaint, Full Tilt Poker still owes players over $300million.

US (est. $150m) was offloaded for $40m.....

$80m to DoJ for FTP minus the US player liability
less $40m in bank accounts of FTP
add $150m ROW
=$190m max*

* assumes ROW is owed as much as $150m....ROW had loads (6 weeks?) of time to withdraw after BF

Yeah, at least his ridiculous negative spin was more eloquent than "herp derp, full tilt y u no ship da maniez?!"

I'd really like to hear how he spins this news in a negative light.

hehe, as much as you have annoyed me in the past....I still have to admire your persistent optimism about this issue.

At this point I just hope all the BF trouble (including paybacks) gets solved....just to see you laugh and say; I told you so.....

Noah and DF. Thank you so much for not only staying on top of this situation but coming here and taking questions when major news breaks. Also its pretty cool that you guys seem to keep scooping the big boys (NYT, WSJ, etc). A couple of ?s:

-A week or so ago before this deal was inked did you consider it the biggest hurdle in getting this deal done? If so what do think the biggest hurdle standing in the way is now?

- You mentioned in your article about Tapie visiting the Dublin office. Are they able to roll there sleeves up and start to working on getting the site back up (hiring/firing etc) or do they have to keep their hands off until the assets are officially handed over?
12-15-2011 , 04:41 PM
i have yet to post a single thing about this whole mess..

i have zero money tied up and I am legit happy about this news.. hope all you guys get your money asap. i couldn't imagine having a huge chunk of my net worth just taken from me. (prolly cuz i like paycheck top paycheck lol)

this seems like reallly good news happy for you guys

the math is fine.

there are other assets that are subject to negotiations. Not everything was forfeited and decided in the original gbt-doj deal, and Ifrah has expressively written that there will be no ftp-doj deal unless full repayment is guaranteed. You can interpret that only to mean that either (a) DOJ has seized more money than we're aware of (b) not everything in settled in the first gbt-doj deal (c) personal assets of bitar, howard, cf, furst > 80million

Although a hurdle has been cleared, the biggest and most challenging one is still yet to be determined.

If there is an announced FTP/DOJ deal, rest assured that you can pop the champagne for reals. Until then, hold off.
