Personally I think the negotiations with the DOJ will center on using the already frozen/seized funds for the fine, but we'll see how this all plays out. There's obviously still a chance for failure, but that is the only positive development for FTP and the players in months, and objectively I think it raises the odds that everyone gets paid back to more likely than not, maybe around 75%? Just my guess.

I will probably never stop gloating if we get our money.
Will gloating include endless neck rotation with a variety of facial color effects? Oh please God, no!

And seriously, whoever just hacked into your account and typed that last messy paragraph about sinister inventions just needs to stop and give Harry his 2+2 account back before people actually believe that he lost his marbles.

Get some sleep my man.
Have to own up and say I typed it myself (and yes I was tired) but the general point is howeber unliekly it may seem absolutely NOTHING that comes from FTP can be trusted at all. They now have a proven track record of being thieves and liars.

Where you get that?
May be you can help the DOJ with that, because they have none.

Funds have always been safe.
Actually a lot safer than with PP or Ladbrokes for example.
The proof will be in the pudding!

You have an unusual definition of the word "safe".

Yea very safe.

Troll or shill, I haven't figured out yet. But your constant posts of this form with no substance to them whatsoever are getting extremely annoying.

Re: FTP Discussion Thread (Everything but big new news goes here. Cliffs in OP)

Well I guess this has to be kind of good news rather than bad but I still am not convinced this latest release means anything of note.

It makes sense that after The AGCC release both FTP and Tapie are in desperate need of some good PR and confirming that a potential deal is on the table is the first step.

Howver personally I do not believe anything has changed as if we look at the key comments made by Tapie its no different from what the position was like 2 days ago.

My reading of Tapie statements is:

They are serious about purchasing FTP

They have signed an exclusive deal to look at purchasing the FTP company

They have sufficient funds to buy it but do not want to put all the money in - whatever that means and which for me is The Doj and existing owners having to chip in most likely or it could even mean clawing back money from elsewhere too - so they are looking to get it on the cheap.

Any deal will result in new management

There is still a long way to go before agreement is reached and subject to several conditions including agreement with The DoJ and that he can pull out still.

As such I dont actually think this latest "news" is news at all and is merely a press release generating some better image of the company after the AGCC report which was pretty damming.

Sorry but I cannot get excited about this ut think when you look at it objectibely it doesnt mean much at all in whole or in part excwept for the worrying bit which I would summarize as:

We want to buy FTP but not for the full asking price but a lesser figure.

It is this bit that I believe is most telling in all this as it basically specifically states that FTP is not worth $350+ million in their eyes.

Are we really supposed to believe that ftp or this investor are at all concerned about what their image is? What a terribly misguided analysis, what is your true intention here?

+1, you've invested a lot of time and effort on this forum for someone who has no money tied up on FTP

Re: FTP Discussion Thread (Everything but big new news goes here. Cliffs in OP)

FTP seems to be very concerned about their image. Look at their statements: "Poor Us - The DOJ took action against us, even though our lawyers said we didn't do anything wrong - Why is everyone one picking on us? - Phil Ivey hurt our "delicate" discussions - We really are a great company - Just read our press releases - Your money is safe and sound - No, we can't send it back to you now - We are not a Ponzi scheme (we just outright stole your money) - Why is everyone being so mean to us? - The AGCC dealt a blow to our negotiations - Boy we are so abused - Doesn't anyone feel sorry for us".

I sure hope this deal works, both for myself, and everyone in both US and ROW who has money on the site, whether it be $100 or $50,000.

But I have zero trust in Full Tilt Poker. Even if I ever get paid, I will still have nothing but contempt for Full Tilt Poker.
