Annie Duke said that that on Quadjacks or Donkdown a while back so it's not an exclusive from Hdemet.

Maybe time for us poker players to hunt down FTP top exec's!!! Seems like we have a countless number of degenerate's that got their lives messed up by these greedy pieces of garbage. At least they woulld start talking then imo
this whole thing is either going to end with us getting paid, or howard lederer in paraguay with a shaved head and a fake mustache

their entire identities are built around poker, and they will be absolutely reviled by every person in the poker world

if they don't pay us, it'd be a long while before they can ever feel safe in public in america again

That includes you LedaSon.

With all due respect, this is unproductive and just self serving for you. At the current market prices lots of people would consider buying FTP paper, including me....getting 5--15 to 1 odds isnt so bad. Hell you might get something out of some settlement. We are not impressed with your attempt to make people look stupid or less confident, because they are not willing to short a 5-15 one shot. You have done this before and its not appropriate for these threads. If you want to buy paper, post it where it is appropriate and buy it if you can. We would love to come up with an over/under type bet that would work, but its so biased toward failure its hard to do without creating a similar situation. Even though I feel like its a goner, it doesn't really make sense to sell for less then 20cents as there are lots of ways players can get paid down the road. From what I understand, its looking like Madoff victims are likely to get 10/20 cents from the trustes at some point.

Another important development not mentioned by the chronology: I am unable to read more on this since almost all gambling-related sites are blocked at work, but apparently there has been some buzz lately regarding U.S. players having to pay taxes on $ stuck in FTP accounts even if we never receive it this year. Could be old news, but I haven't seen it pop up on here yet

So did the Ifrah giving responses thing just got delayed until later today? Weird how it was announced yesterday and now it's like nothing happened.

That's great for Howard, but how does that show he's helping to try rectify the situation.. How about he gets off his ass and tries to work out a deal rather than sitting at home and having a cry because of his inability to run a business. God does stupidity run through all of the Lederer/Duke genes?

Pay taxes on money that the DOJ froze, seized, stole, found?? Sounds so stupid that it's scary! Lawyers up please! Got to be level!

Thanks to everyone who helped put together those cliffs. Keeping track of this whole saga is a giant pain it the ass.

Still waiting to here anything of relevance, but you can put me in the pessimistic crowd. I believe there's a 25% chance or less of everyone getting paid, although I certainly hope I'm wrong.

There's so many sick aspects to this whole thing but one of the sickest has to be that it doesn't seem like FTP knows exactly what they even owe everybody thanks to the whole payment processing snafu.

How many accounts have inflated balances due to all of the fake deposits people were making?

Good luck sorting out that whole mess. Hopefully that's what they've been working on with all of their down time the last few months.

Looking in the rear view mirror - the NETELLER case

Quote:
I started looking into the previous cases with the DOJ SDNY/USAO particularly in the case of NETELLER (and to a lesser extent other processors) with respect to which laws they were charged under, the process and time frame leading to repayment of players.

This is primarily for those that wished to see the similarities/differences between that and the current Black Friday situation.
Apologies for the delay but I've been busy and this took much longer than anticipated to put together than I originally envisaged.

This is where Howard spends his depressed days:

Just to get an idea of where our money went.

His exact words when I asked him yesterday were, 'Almost done, hoping to still post tonight'.

He is a bit confused as to what 2 plus 2 is and not sure how it works, initially he thought it was a blog. I explained to him what it's all about. '2 plus 2 is a forum with many threads containing mostly poker related discussions which takes place between the 2 plus 2 members. So you would have to register with email verification etc to first become a member and then be able to post in the forum.'

He said that 'I am just always traveling and prefer direct email. I am worried that because I am not always logged in to the forum, I may not be able to respond to folks as quickly as I like and they might be offended. But I guess I can't expect everyone to email me either. Not sure what to do. I will ask Noah.'

I explained to him that if there is a closed thread, with further questions from people, he could answer them in his own time. I put forward your suggestion of JeffTP as a username to him if he does register and linked him to a 2 plus 2 app for his Android. I told him that i'll talk him through setting up an account if he wants. So still not sure if he himself is going to post but we'll see.
