This information (name, radio show, affiliation) is readily available and you don't have to be a detective to find it, just someone that follows poker news.

Found his name rather quickly, only radio show I could find that is associated with the name was FilthyLimper fwiw.

This thread is a perpetual motion machine of poo flinging, it just so happens that occasionally something else happens.

He is a co-founder of Vegas Poker Radio (source: PFA), which will be a sort of merger of existing forums and radio hosts (Venom, FL, and Brandon Drexel). I'm not sure about the affiliation being discussed -- perhaps it's that he's a Black Chip affiliate (presumed because of the Black Chip banner on Venom Poker)?

Since Druff will be participating in at least one of the shows that will be run on VPR, that may tie into this somehow, but I guess it's worth noting that Witteles won't have an ownership stake in the project.

It doesn't seem like much of a bomb shell unless there's more to the story or maybe joeyrulesall has some interesting way of tying it all together.

Pokerati Dan sounded very skeptical about the whole thing (Stars buying FTP in general) on DD this week.

2012 is a great time to start out in radio.

This is quite possibly inaccurate. But if it is, I expect PokerStars to decide they don't really need Spain's business.

I don't understand all the people who are saying they were dependent on poker for a living and didn't have any work experience didn't just move out of country or get a crap job?

Yeah I get it isn't the easiest thing to do but with all the complaints being mentioned; it's a hell of a lot better than your current situation.

If not the crap job; all it would of took was minimum 3k on the low side to move out the country. 1k for the plane ticket, 500 for living expenses for the first month and a rest for the bank roll.

Fly to asia. Get your penis blown and or sexed because your white. Set up a bank account. Get reinstated with PS. Grind after a week of landing in your cheap ass 8usd/day hotel wifi. All the while living off 3 usd a day for food. Bare minimum to live in Vietnam that's not slummy and easily livable is 11 bucks a day. If you couldn't do that than do what ever it is your doing.

Imagine how life would be making the money you did and living in asia. Its easily 10 fold what ever it was pre Black Friday.

So Dan Michalski of Pokerati ("Pokerati Dan") says "There isn't a chance in hell" the Stars deal goes through if it even exists. He seems to have decent sources. Does this count for anything?

Has decent sources, but doesn't even know if a deal exists. Probably not someone to pay much attention to.
What were his reasons for being so pessimistic?

Re: FTP Discussion Thread (Everything but big new news goes here. Cliffs in OP)

He didn't really elaborate much except to say there is no solid evidence that such a deal is even on the table.

I tried to pry additional info out of one of his writers who posts here, but his reply was just that he doesn't know anything about it.

i'm gonna just go out on a limb and say that since poker stars hasn't denied this rumor that there is some merit to it. why would p stars want people thinking they're bailing them out if they're not? it doesn't necessarily hurt their rep. but def doesn't help

All I can say is he sounded very confident and was willing to bet a lot on it (how much of that is hot air I don't know). Usually people in his position aren't as confidently black or white about it was my concern, but if nobody who is talking has a solid source who really knows something then I'll ignore it as more unfounded speculation as I should anyway.
