Prove all the haters wrong by jumping in the 2k/4k 7-game on FTP and crushing.

Re: The final table - Joe Cada

why worry what people thought of your play?? you have 8.5 mil. (correction 4.5 mil after taxes and you already knew you were good at poker. so be happy.

obviously, i understand wanting to have a sponsorship contract. definitely good business.

play whatever amount of poker you want to play and be happy.

im obv just some average player but if i ever won that kind of money i would just play a few big buy in events a few and enjoy it.

Re: The final table - Joe Cada

besides that i thought you played well, the 33 hand was surely close. The J9 hand call was sick.

Re: The final table - Joe Cada

Joe, F the haters, you just shipped the BIGGEST tournament in the world. How many 21 year olds have a $2.5 million bankroll anyways? Sure, you got lucky (like most of the donkament winners have too) but that J9 call HU was sick and basically won you the tournament.

FYI, most of the people hating here would have probably gone to some douchey club and bought like 5 bottles and celebrate with people who could care less who Joe Cada was. The night after the main event, I saw Joe with a couple of his buddies playing beer pong at O'sheas. At least the guy is still grounded and knows where he came from.

Well done joe on the whole I thought you played very well...of course you got lucky but everyone sitting at that table had to luckbox to get there in the first place. Very sweet, enjoy

Also noted that shulman raised the button with 99 and folded to phil ivey's ship from the bb
I don't understand the inclusion of this sentence. You told us not to focus too hard on the fact that the televised coverage only shows certain hands, but then cite this single one in your reasoning? Also, how is it relevant? You didn't know at the time that he held 99 when he opened.

Quote:
The table was 17 hours long cut into 2 hours so for people thinking they see all the big hands its pretty ridiculous. They don't show the 9 -10 hands where I 3bet shipped light and chipped up 20 percent of my stack everytime.
This is true for the average casual poker fan who only watched the televised coverage, absolutely. But, many people here followed internet broadcasts which covered every single hand. To be honest, nothing in these stood out as being all that interesting in terms of table dynamics, so I'm not sure that anything that really occured at the FT offers all that much justification for repeated shoving of small PP.

You don't have to defend yourself to anyone; you're the world champion with a ton of money and fame that few on this site have ever reached anywhere near. Obviously in today's media obsessed world, there will be tons of people following what you did, and thus plenty of detractors, no matter how you had played. You shouldn't take it to heart at all. That being said, you did show up here to post commentary about it. you have to realize that to the casual observer, it isn't going to look particularly skillful when you send it in 22 versus JJ, 33 versus QQ, 44 versus A8, AK versus 88, and 99 versus QJs and win all five.

Re: The final table - Joe Cada

congrats to cada. [II[/I] was just surprised when he pushed with that low pocket pair pre-flop when shulman was involved, he seemed to be playing pretty tight compared to some others at the table. its a nice bluff attempt that got a catch and worked out for him

any TV FT event we are prolly only seeing at most 25% of the play

Congrats man! Wear it well.

The only poker comment I would be qualified to make would be "that to win you have to stick your chips in the middle"... and you def did that!
