Hey everybody.
Please join me in making our voices heard on Wednesday, December 12th. Hopefully many of you can take 60 seconds to help for just one day to help our cause. (Skip to links at the bottom of this post for action plan.)
Right now is an important time for our fight for regulated online poker in the US. While I am no expert when it comes to politics, many of the posters in the legislation forum believe our best chance at federal legislation of online poker in the US is this month during the lame duck session of congress.
The Daily Action Plan is the best way to make sure that you are getting our message out there regularly to as many people of influence as possible. That said, not everyone has the time and/or is willing to commit to take those actions every day. Hopefully many of you can take 60 seconds to help for just one day to help our cause.
I hope many of you will join me in making our voices heard Wednesday, December 12th.There will be several simple links to click within this post similar to the Daily Action Thread. It will only take 60s to participate. There will also be info here on how to contact your local lawmakers. Ideally, we can get a lot of players to call and visit their local offices. For those with less time, though, even taking a few seconds to send a few tweets will help the cause. I will edit this OP with the links as well as info on how to to contact your lawmakers by phone, visits, and other methods. It will all be posted here a few days before the 12th, so you have time to setup meetings or phone calls.
Also similar to the DAP, the pre-filled messages will be somewhat generic asking that our lawmakers support our right to play online poker in our own homes. If you want to be more specific, the tweets are fully editable and you can change them to your own message.
Online poker is easy for politicians to ignore, but I hope we can get loud enough for one day that we can show this issue is important to us. Please spread the word about this to other poker players on Twitter, Facebook, and any other way you can think of. TheEngineer from the PPA has volunteered to inform the PPA's million+ members through email on Wednesday morning.
I hope we can come together as a community for just one day to let our leaders know that online poker is very important to us.
Thank you for reading and participating!
