What would be a reasonable guess as to how much of that $23M he's actually won after subtracting buyins, taxes, and staking? $5M?

I imagine he's made a lot buying action/staking others.

I am pretty sure Euros based in Austria do not pay taxes.

I'd take the over on $5m.

pretty sure before his live heater, he won WCOOP ME, and the next WCOOP ME he staked the winner. would take the over on 10m (from my limited knowledge of him)

Fallacy of poker is skill matters at highest stakes. It's reverts back to pure gambling and whoever runs the best wins periods. That's what the deciding factor is at the highest stakes

No.

No AND yes.

At highest stakes variance is greater because the edges are again smaller, but there are still edges (and in the long run ...*)

this is not entirely true but variance is going to be a bigger factor in results at higher stakes simply because there's not an opportunity to get as much volume in as you can at lower stakes

You guys honestly think fedor is doing something magical to be up 23m. Theirs an army of players that play similar . He has an edge but it's not =23mega. Yea poker at the 1020 live and lower level you can outplay and outskill the luck factor. Games above that no chance. The biggest winner will usually be the dude running the best. Not their fault just random luck tho

Do you have any experience playing high stakes cash or tournaments? He's a great player in a sea of other great players. He's not reinventing the wheel. Put most top pros in his card distribution and they will do great too. The best pros make the best play from their pov which you guessed it turns out to be the same play/bet sizing/reads another great player will make. This is live fullring tourneyments were talking only so much you can do. You guys underestimate the luck involved in poker. Your spoon fed things even out thats not true in live poker at the highest stakes. He's a great player and maybe He s doing slightly more than the next best but the biggest push on why his results are the way they are is not this edge of 5% extra skillset he pocesses , the random luck is the engine driving the train. It's not a dig on him it's just the way it is. Someone has to run the best out of the sea of great players and that person will usually be the biggest winner

95% of his wins came in "mtts" with less than 60 entrants

draw your own conclusions.
