Facebook to offer real money gaming in Europe

And then they plan to expand? This is huge! I feel like this will be better than the original poker boom if it ever makes it to the US!

Per wickedchops poker. Don't have the link atm.

Zynga say they won't offer real money, so facebook finds someone else, nice.

Pretty sure this actually screws zynga as far as their IPO is concerned. They make money off of ad revenue which comes from FB database no? So once fb has poker what use do they have for zynga? The fishies will just change clients imo!

Maybe facebook are trying to force zynga to get their arse in gear and offer real money themselves, that would surely make sense from a facebook point of veiw, no?

Well I read zynga is considering seperating from fb. This seems either like a shrewd business move by fb or like hey we are bitter we are gonna f you. Zynga exists because everyone is on fb.

Hard to imagine Zynga being able to continue without being on facebook, especially as a play money only site. The software is pretty terrible iirc. Only reason people on facebook play there is because they don't know any better .

Re: Facebook to offer real money gaming in Europe

I wouldn't over react just yet. It's important to figure out what scale they're looking at. Did you all know that Yahoo, for instance, also offers online poker for real money? Of course it's just a small applet on their site that runs a skin on some rando network, Boss I believe.

If Facebook is just going to pick up a skin and have it as a small side offering then this is close to no news. If they are contracting out to develop their own site which they plan on heavily advertising and pushing then this is probably the biggest news in online poker in years. Unfortunately I expect this is vastly more likely to be the former rather than latter.

No because zynga makes money off of fb. Not the other way around. If fb offers gaming they essentially eliminate the middle man. This probably helps us keep rake low due to pushing one person out. Granted that is just a guess by me.
