LOL. so i give you a bunch of names that you've never heard of, and instead of actually finding out who they are, your argument is to tell me about what a bunch of drugged out hippie kids decided to write on walls 40 years ago.
you seem like a really bright guy.

and it's not just about speed. the other guys i mention play jazz, classical, fusion, and world music. they have not only more technical facility, but 100 times more sophisticated knowledge of scales, harmony, rhythm, and every other musical area that you know nothing about.

above paragraph was copy/pasted from my response to the other guy.

why dont you spend a few weeks googling some of those guys, and the hundreds of other names that those names will lead to, and then you MIGHT start to see that your world is just a wee bit smaller than you thought.

and like i told the other guy, if you really are interested in learning why you're wrong, then PM me. i'd rather not have this debate publicly cuz i dont have the patience to debate a bunch of ignorant music listeners and beginner musicians.

edit: and for the record, the "general guitar playing public" doesn't know shit, and the "top guitar players" that you mention - you have no idea who those are.
Hahahahaha..........dejavu?

Arguing about something this subjective with you is a waste of time. I learned a long time ago not to enter into discussions with people that think have all the answers and everyone else is an idiot. You clearly cant be reasoned with. Its not a tangible thing that can be proved or disproved, its an opinion. You are arrogant and ignorant...a double-threat. You couldnt possibly know what my musical background is. Find any highly respected musician that doesnt think Clapton is one of the best guitar players and send it to me.

The perfect analogy for your comment that Clapton isnt of the best 20,000 guitar players is the equivalent of saying that Phil Ivey isnt one of the best 20,000 poker players.
