EPT San Remo winner alleged backing scam ???

It seems like, this years EPT San Remo winner, Constant Rijkenberg was backed way over 100%.

Source: http://nl.pokernews.com/poker-forum/topic113758/

On this forum Constant Rijkenberg (CR) (EncroyableC) was backed for 41% to play the SR EPT. After is win, everybody happy. But than the rumours/thruth started.

Translation: Good pokersources told me you sold for 163% for San Remo (SR).
This means you can't pay out your backers for 63%. You lose
your $1.5M and so broke.

Rob Hollink (Dutch pro and WSOP bracelet winner) is next to ask questions.

Translation: I'm surprised that, after two and a half weeks, there's still
uncertainty you've sold more or less than 100%.
I think Constant should publish a list with all is backers and %.

RaSZi (Lex Veldhuis) (Dutch online and live pro) gives us the inside story.

Short translation: this is what i know
- 2 guys from Belgium had 10% each and got there money
on the spot (Akdemir and Camardese).
- Ralph Shwartz was paid out 25%.
- Ernesto (backed CR always) 50%. Says he have and sms
to proof this.
- Jasper Wetemans 1% to buy some beers.
all this i heard in SR and in Monte Carlo and it's time to
come clean. I'm also afraid that the small investors, who
would get between 12k - 15k, will be slowrolled.

If this is all true we have 41 + 96 = 137% already. And extra claims where made on the forum. Topic reached over 100 pages and 2000 posts this afternoon.

Meanwhile the Dutch press picked up the story to.

Short translation: At the Grand final in Monaco a few sources told me there
was more than one backingaction going on. Some of them
told me he was backed way over 100%, with the backers
descriptions and %.

If this is true then Constant Rijkenberg would be completely retarded for shipping the tournament.

Sounds like a fool. Can imagine him being interviewed after the final table being asked what he's gonna spend it all on :P

same logic applies to superusers, never losing, calling with 10 high etc (potripper), but greed takes over.

If youre scumbag enough to make this deal in the first place you probably wouldn't have sound enough judgement to throw the tourney when you were doing well.

Lol, I have been reading the dutch forum and it seems like the entire 'dutch pokerworld' is going crazy over this. If this is true how could he be so stupid. The guy has been on different dutch tv shows telling about his win and how great he is, while he sould be moving to the jungle of south america and hide for the rest of his life. I hope for all the people who have backed him that this is all a big misunderstanding.

Re: EPT San Remo winner backingscam ???

Depends on what he does next.

TJ Cloutier has written about a pro who did this inadvertently and spend several years working to pay them their shares to get clear.

The story in this case doesn't look as promising.
