4) You can't see well enough across the table to see your opponents card back
5) the next card is burned....

its just not practical, poker is just way too different to baccarat with 1 player vs the house for a long session, close to the dealer/cards
This. Don't need to read that site to realise that it's not as much of an issue in poker as it is in table games.

Now, infra red contact lenses and invisible dyes, that's another story.

Definitely something to be worried about! Card manufacturers need to be producing cards that instantly and visibly react to known dyes across the visual spectrum.

I brought this up earlier ITT and was quickly dismissed. I find the difference in security between table games and poker to be too large. In table games, you have the burn cards placed where you can view them through red plastic to see if they're marked as well as cameras and pit bosses constantly making sure the game is fair, yet at the poker table the idea of knowing if the casino is inspecting the cards is laughed off.

I was playing 7 card stud at Foxwoods a few years back and noticed an ace had a thumbnail gouge in the middle of one of the two quarter sized round designs on the back. I called a floor guy over and told him about the card. He pulled it out of the deck, looked at it, and came back with a replacement card a few minutes later. As he replaced the card I asked him if he was going to check any other cards in that deck for marks. He just gave me a blank stare and walked away.
