i disagree.

watch the timing of the flash photography. even if there are 4 photographers at the press announcement (two legit photographers, two fulltilt photographers to get images for future promotions) do you really believe that it is necessary to snap a picture of chris ferguson every 1.6 seconds in that goofy ass cowboy hat that he wears?

and the questions by the uncredited "media representatives" are even more fishy. all of the questions seem completely scripted. along with the quick exchanges between howard, chris, and the "media". to tom's credit, his answers to the questions seem completely genuine and spontaneous. so basically, my silly ass conjecture is that howard and full tilt arranged some photographers and "media" to show up, and then they scripted out a psuedo press announcement complete with photographers and questions.

all of this with tom unwittingly participating.

of course on many levels, none of this makes sense. but still, it seems as if the questions and photography are scripted to give the appearance of a press announcement that is much more important than it really is.

which is ironic, considering that in terms of poker accomplishments, tom actually does deserve a press announcement that is important as his psuedo one tries to be.

Re: durrrr signs with team full tilt

can anyone explain matuwsows deal then

if he doesnt own part of full tilt (and therefore does not get payments from the profits)

then what does he gain from being on team full tilt (except exposure).

Do they like pay him 1m a year or something?

My guess is that Matusow missed out on the serious shareholdings back when FTP started out, and at the moment he has a small share or profit share or something cause everyone likes Mike.

That $2mil a year salary he's getting must be nice, unless it of course jinxed him.

Re: durrrr signs with team full tilt

Like everyone else, I have no idea what kind of deal durrrr has with Full Tilt, but I expect that they will want him to play more live tourneys. Or, at least, take the tourneys he plays seriously. Else I don't see what value there is in FT sponsoring durrrr as a predominantly online player. Fanboys know about him, but they're already on FT. Joe The Poker Fan wants to sign up to the site he sees on players on TV final tables like Hansen and Ferguson and that Tiger Woods guy.

Oh, and how much does Matusow regret not investing that $200k in FT years ago in exchange for equity? Woops...
